@Typo-MAGAshiv That neocon hybris was pretty much the same hybris as the libtards, just directed in the opposite direction. They did the same with Afghanistan too but in that case they threw away less administrative infrastructure before building a house of shit that fell the moment they walked away.

They really thought western culture was the best model of culture and that because of this everyone would want it for the benefits it brought. They failed to see that it was only possible in a prosperous largely law abiding society where political institutions had gradually been built into the culture and where there were not large armed ethnic groups who wanted to kill each other.

Once again -retards!

Should have read Machiavelli to start. An organised state is harder to conquer but easy to govern -you just tell the existing infrastructure it has new management. a chaotic state is easy to conquer (you turn up and rag heads run to the mountains) but its harder to govern because you have to build the entire administrative infrastructure. nihil novi est sub sole. Empire works the way it always has done.

Iraq should have been administered through rewarding the existing administration for cooperating and selling out, even if they were filthy pederasts. Afghanistan should have been governed by establishing forts, selecting a "client king" who was actually locally popular not some guy who had no local social capital and then making sure he was just strong enough to rule but not strong enough to rebel (like the Romans did with Herod) for example. Herod was by all estimations a piece of shit of the first order but like Saddam, he held his province together by being a piece of shit that belonged to Rome. It takes a few generations in the local cemeteries before you pacify a province. Those lands should have been held and administered for the wealth of the US and its allies -as empires do. To hand them back to opportunists and bandits pissed int he face of the men who worked to conquer them.

Empire is not all fluffy bunnies but if you don't do it someone else will be sure.

@First-light to be faaaair, neocons such as Dubya had the hubris to try to install a democracy in Iraq after removing Saddam.

I hadn't even finished my first tour there in 2005-06 when a bunch of us realized "these people don't want democracy, and they needed Saddam!"

For all that I still think that knowing only what we knew at the time, Saddam needed to go, he was unique in being able to keep order and stability in such a shithole. Too bad he had ambitions for conquering the rest of the Middle East, and refused to abide by the terms of his 1991 surrender.

Then for the EXACT same reasons, we should have taken out Israel and a few other countries/leaders a long time ago.

How do you figure?

Saddam signed on to an agreement not to have WMDs as a condition of the cease-fire at the end of Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

Israel has never signed any such agreement (and it would be foolish of them to do so).

So too, do the war mongers build future terrorism, that they will not pay for. Our children and grandchildren have to pay the bill.

The bungling around then sudden abandonment we did in Iraq and Afghanistan fits that, but the precision removal of an illegitimate dictator won't. Especially when the people he's been starving are absolutely thrilled.

“WMD” is among the biggest payola *psyops [I hate my phone too lol] in modern human history. They didn’t even waste time pulling a false flag. Just point and accuse.

And from @Vermillion-Rx:

Imagine if George W Bitch just abducted Saddam Hussein over night instead of fucking us over

I really don't like going around this mountain again, so I won't. If anyone is remotely interested in what I have to say about Saddam and WMDs, feel free to knock yourselves out here.

bottom line: even if he never had WMDs (and he did), his kicking out the inspectors meant hostilities resumed.

Additionally, Saddam had multiple body doubles scattered throughout Iraq to fool would-be assassins. That, and he had an entire political party that was fiercely loyal to him. The invasion was necessary (though poorly planned past it).

@Typo-MAGAshiv

When have I said peep about that boat?

Fair, I lumped you in with the entire rest of MAGA on that topic, which they vigorously support and defend, and actively denigrate anyone who questions the legality and propriety of. Watch, I predict it's partially setting precedent for Israel to blow Gaza Relief Flotilla boats out of the water, which MAGA will also gleefully rally behind, equally for the US Veterans boat as the one Greta Thunberg is on.

Not quite what I said, and their powers aren't unconstitutional.

Many of their activities are. They likely tanked a huge investment by South Korea, and gave the rest of the world cause to not think even once about investing in American manufacturing capacity or buying the products of any managing to exist. Again with the entirely of MAGA, possibly excepting yourself, waving the flag and pom poms over.

just 9/11 and the original Persian Gulf War in 1991.

The casus belli was Saddam has WMDS and if we didn't invade the next thing we'd see is a mushroom cloud, and that he attacked poor innocent Kuwait for no reason. There was never an Iranian nuclear program, and only chemical weapons stockpiles were found, which were known about because they were openly sold to Iraq by American weapons companies, when Iraq threatening other Gulf Nations was convenient to America's warped foreign policy goals. Sadam had a legitimate beef with Kuwait slant drilling into petroleum deposits lying under Iraq, and got rebuffed when taking the matter before world legal and diplomatic institutions. America specifically told Saddam, when he threatened to resort to military force as the final resort to resolve the matter, that America had no interest or desire to get involved in conflicts between Arab states.

As for 9/11, it was not a surprise attack any more than 10/7. The CIA took numerous reports of suspicious groups of Arab men taking flight lessons and not fitting the standard profile of legitimate pilot career seekers. That shrub of a man W Bush got a report presented to him, Bin Laden determined to strike within the US, and told the presenter "Your ass has been covered." then probably never gave the written report a second glance.

I don't believe that an intact passport was found on a sidewalk, that 3 buildings collapsed neatly into their own footprints entirely due to airplane damage particularly building 7, that Israelis were NOT seen dancing in celebration as the attacks unfolded, or that other Israelis weren't warned to not go to work in the Twin Towers that day. Neocon run America was itching for a reason to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, and if some American civilians needed to get killed to help manufacture consent, this was an acceptable cost.

@Typo-MAGAshiv Dude. This is a PROPAGANDA video you posted. Not 30 seconds in they're saying, oOOOoh, well if it was OBAMA we'd be saying what a great thing , but Trump is held to a little bit different standard!!!

No, you MAGA fucksticks-YOU are not holding TRUMP to any kind of standard AT ALL! If you held YOURSELVES to any kind of standards, you'd be admitting you got suckered by Trump and Maga, and renouncing them.

But, that's not what's baked into the GOP OR its supposed breakout branch MAGA. By definition, conservatives tend to conserve the status quo, to hew to tradition, to stick with things the way they are.

Liberalism by its very definition, means a willingness to break from tradition, to reject old ways, to branch out and try new ideas in search of those that work better than status quo.

The Democratic party is currently polling in the 28-35% approval range- AMONG DEMOCRATS It's the Republicans and GOP that I've watched circle their wagons around their incumbents, and defend them no matter how many blatant lies they tell and failures their policies lead to. Reaganomics, the First Gulf War/Saddam has WMDs. Invading Iraq will be a cake walk. The Taliban are nothing but backward goat herders living in caves we'll be in and out of Afghanistan in weeks.

Propaganda like the shit you posted above, only helps to reinforce your self assurance in the face of repeated failures and feedback that your party, and your choice of leaders, are consistently wrong about everything and keep leading to terrible outcomes. It does nothing to pass along useful information, only to steer you to work against your own interests. How blue pill is THAT???

At the time most of the world agreed with the "righteous moral stature" of it.

Only those who took the Official Party Line at face value, and lacked the will to study the matter even a little bit. That time, the Administration and media mouthpieces were unanimous and insistent on the "fact" that "Saddam has WMDs.

You're conflating the first and second again.

The first was in 1991, and was purely to protect Saudi Arabia and then liberate Kuwait.

In fact, the first Pres Bush faced a lot of criticism from both sides of the aisle for not invading Iraq and taking Saddam out! However, we had no standing at the time to do that, and doing so would likely have turned our coalition against us.

That time, the Administration and media mouthpieces were unanimous and insistent on the "fact" that "Saddam has WMDs.

Sigh, time to go around that mountain again.

He more than likely had them, but those huge truck convoys going into Syria while our government spent months discussing and debating got rid of much of what he had.

Where do you think Al-Assad got the chemical weapons he used on Syrian rebels during the Arab Spring?

if they want sharia law, or whatever you have no business interfering.

I agree, as long as they keep it to themselves.

again, I never said I am a muslim, let alone said I am an islamist. I am agnostic

You sure have quoted that pederast false prophet a lot for someone who isn't one.

the borders betwen islamic countries have been formed by western imperial powers with the help of treacherous arab leaders and dictators that the US supports

So what?

Almost all of that land was Christian before Islamic conquest.

They got reconquered. It's a shame more wasn't changed.

YOU WENT THERE.

Goddamn right. Saddam violated the terms of his 1991 surrender.

He fucked around and found out.

Had he complied, we'd have left him to rule his little shithole.

genuine questions:

I dint believe there's anything genuine in anything you've said here from your first post through now, but I'll answer them anyway for those reading along.

why did you stay in iraq after killing saddam?

Me? That wasn't my call. I'm flattered that you think I was powerful enough to make that decision, but that was the politicians in DC.

Kidding aside:

1) the insurgency was at its full height when Saddam was hanged, as was the sectarian violence.

2) we were trying to rebuild that shithole and leave it better than we found it. This included training their military and police, as well as rebuilding and even improving their infrastructure. It was a pretty hopeless endeavor, really.

what did you expect from iraqis when you stepped on their soil?

Again, most of the terrorists were third-country nationals.

why do you cry when someone strikes back at your land, no 9/11 wasn't the starting point, muslim blood was already on western hands way before that.

If you want to go back to the beginning for the USA, muslims started it back in the late 1700s. The Barbary pirates captured some of our ships and enslaved our citizens who were the crews. President Thomas Jefferson had our Navy and Marine Corps beef up and go kick their asses. This got Britain, France, and others to wake up and stop paying tribute and start kicking their asses too.

If you want to go back further, back to the beginning, Islam has always been the aggressor, ever since it started. The Crusades were about justice and taking back formerly Christian lands, and in response to centuries of Islamic aggression.

You people just view the rest of the world as property to be taken, and any retaliation as "evil".

is it hard to accept that your way of life is undesirable in some regions and that no one wants you to bring it to them, or does it hurt your ego?

Not at all. We accepted that even as we attempted it.
