Discussion about the 5th gen war

I’ll grant that there are a lot of different opinions out there by people who pick and choose which parts they want to believe, but what I wrote about the relationship between the OT and the NT has been the explicit understanding of Christians (including the early Christians who were all Jews) since Day 1. Both Jesus Himself and the apostles (especially Paul) wrote about this extensively.
The part about religion in the Roman Empire is easily deduced by studying the history of Roman religious practices.
A great many people (including most “experts” in Gender Studies) believe that men can give birth, but that doesn’t make it a matter of opinion upon which reasonable people may disagree.

Lurker, over the years I have heard countless opinion on what one religion or another is. Yours is just one more personal opinion.
I believe that you feel this way, and I do show people basic human respect for their unique beliefs.
Just keep in mind that many Christians (millions actually) would vehemently disagree with you.
Not to mention the different sects of Judaism and Islam.
I suspect that this take you just shared is not as common as you may think.
But like I said - hold onto it. And don't let me or anyone else tell you different. I think it is dangerous to wake people up from certain beliefs and this is one of them.
Islam isn’t an Abrahamic religion despite its claims. Christianity and Judaism are the same religion: Judaism predates the incarnation of the Messiah, while Christianity postdates the Messiah. The New Testament doesn’t negate the Old Testament “law and prophets”… it fulfills the law, ratifies the prophets, and lays out how believers are to live now.
Roman Catholicism is a mixture of the polytheism of ancient Europe and Christianity. The Romans knew that the ONE thing people would fight for was religion, so they permitted a fair amount of religious freedom as long as people acknowledged Roman political rule. Then the Caesars started demanding recognition of their divinity. For polytheists it was no big deal to add another god to the pantheon, but for monotheists, that was a bridge too far. In an attempt to square the circle, the pantheon was simply replaced by canonizing people as “saints” to replace all the gods. For example, instead of praying to Hera or Juno or Isis, you were supposed to pray to Mary instead. Rather than petitioning “gods” for specific favors, Catholicism supplies a list of patron saints that fulfill the same purpose (attempting to communicate with the dead is strictly forbidden in both the Old and New Testaments.) Combine that with Roman military might (the stick) and the benefits of Pax Romana (the carrot), and the Christian church was driven underground for more than a thousand years.
Read MoreWhen I learned what I now know, (and trust me I fought it HARD as I grew up in the Church - 12 years of Catholic school), it profoundly hurt my feelings and changed the way I see the world. It's like a veil fell from my eyes and everything suddenly made perfect sense.
All these questions lead to this simple undeniable fact:
Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are all Abrahamic religions.
In other words, Abraham and his actions are the foundation upon which ALL of these belief systems are based.
If you are deeply religious, I am warning you now:
#DO NOT LISTEN TO ME AND DO NOT ABANDON YOUR FAITH.
Do NOT peer behind the curtain. You are not going to like what you find.

So to respond to each point seperately:
Yes, Islam does not pretend to be about "turning the other cheek". It's more concerned about justice or fairness. My personal interpretation is about the over arching theme of showing restraint, and not abusing power (why there is such a strong emphasis on punishment of transgressors).
I noticed the same thing. I am Muslim, but I have no problem listenning to Chritian Orthodox chants, renditions of "Miserere" and "Ave Maria", admiring Christian Cathedrals and such. I even went to a pre-school run by Coptic nuns in my toddler years. So the topic of God and religion is soothing to me. Whereas for some, I noticed that it riles them up, makes them uncomfortable, agressive and defensive. A clear bad sign. An unhealthy Nafs.
I would totally avoid websites written by atheistic-heathens on the topic of religion. The same way I totally avoid sites on Christianity written by Christ-haters. Bashing on God, Jesus or any other holy figure seems to be a peculiar sick hobby of twisted souls.

What he proved was that the Roman Catholic Church was wrong.

@lurkerhasarisen -The raids concentrated on suspects who had set their sights on well-known women like female politicians-
In other words, don't dare criticize the regime or you'll be jailed.
I read somewhere that 60+% of women in the U.S. support criminal penalties for speech that hurts someone's feelings (so-called hate speech). That's catnip to the ruling class. A significant majority of the largest group of voters supports all of the censorship going on, so of course that censorship will continue. That's one reason I'm skeptical elections will change anything. When you look at voting demographics, it isn't a pretty picture.
