@Osiris No worries. The ones I got are high quality. I still use them for stretches. Bands/tubes made me transition the majority of my training to cables, now that I am back in the gym.
Chest? Ah, my fucking nemesis muscle for a couple of years. I could never activate it until I had tubes.
I tried bench, weighted dips and nothing worked.
James Grage has some good exercises here
Though he doesn't do a straight chest fly, which is what I do.
That's them. Get a good squeeze in the middle.
I was doing them with that sort of form, but a week ago I found this video by Grage.
He does chest flys in the last quarter of that video. He has a different way of squeezing the elbows together. Granted, he is on cables and I have only tried this on cables, but damn it is like a golden tip.
You might try that with bands and see if it works.
Resistances tubes helped me actually find a connection with my chest, and it looks and feels much different three months later. It's not Hulk style, but more than enough to know the flys have made all the difference.Read More
I just got a cheap set off EBay, same as that one. They have proven to be awesome.
And if you want to get into them, I highly recommend watching James Grage on Youtube.
He switched resistance bands only over the past year and has lots of really good videos on different exercises, and he explains things like mind-muscle connection. Good guy.Read More
Rule Zero video. This call in stuck out to me, mostly because he's British, but I've worked with people that sound and look like him before. I can relate to this guy, his history of retail and absent father leaving him lost and alone. The subsequent ribbing from John and the advice from Rollo is on point and anyone who is lurking here that still hasn't understood The Red Pill should watch this call in.
These soft serve pasty guys are the guys Rollo is helping claw their way out of the shit. This guy can't even formulate a salient question because he is so afraid of asking the right question that he will get an answer that takes him out of his comfort zone. John cuts right through that and starts telling him how it is. This guy is so attached to his computer that he believes cancel culture is an issue for him personally making his life better. He asks 'How do I make money in a world where cancel culture is a thing?' but his hesitation throughout informed me that what he wants to ask is 'How do I begin to change what I am?'
I've been him. Seeing him still there and floundering scares me into working harder. Seeing these guys take his call and lift him up in the way he needs gives me hope and pride that men can still come together to help each other.
Fuck yeah.Read More
