@millennialRP great, thank you. I'm glad that it can be straightforward. Obtaining research positions in academia is anything but.

@millennialRP Having done test and dbol after doing prohormones, I must say that it depends entirely on the cycle you are interested in. If you're looking for some entry level gains that don't require a LOT of commitment, then PH are the way to go. If you have the time and willpower to dedicate to a test cycle, I recommend that route.

@SpivakFan old fashioned way, find out firms you could work for and then find out who you need to know and meet, find a way into their radar via networking, events, conferences, offer them services, etc. "how to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie would be a super applicable work in a context like this.

@millennialRP my niche I would say is portfolio optimization. This was the subject of my PhD and one of my main areas of interest. Do you have any additional advice on how one would 'break into' a research position at a private firm? I am very interested in such a role.

@SpivakFan if you have understanding of a specific niche (investment finance, asset management, private wealth mgmt etc.) you can try to break into a research position and then navigate the waters from there

@underarmourgold Start with used cars, just getting a foot in the door and building experience will take you a long way. Read spin selling and the art of the deal

@underarmourgold get into sales. performance based career, high earning potential, many opportunities for advancement, extremely transferable skill across many fields/industries, teaches you to not fear rejection, is essential to know in starting your own business
