Hi everyone. I am new to the forums (although not new to TRP), I made an account today and I found this tribe, which is cool because I live in Germany. Looking forward to discussions and making connections.
@Alpha-Budgie Higher education as institutions are pushing it forward (eg. in universities, they created "Gendersprache", where you write person-describing nouns (e.g Doctor) in a gender-inclusive way (eg. masculine: Doktor, feminine: Doktorin, the new "gendersprache": Doktor*/in). It's pretty fucking stupid and unnecessary.
Throughout the youth, LGBT propaganda is being spread (especially in English class in textbooks, they talk about gender identity and stuff like that.). I'd say it's becoming worse, like in America, but as Alpha-Budgie says, older people are not that affected by it. It's mostly the brainwashing done by the state with the newer curriculum that affects the newer generations.
Interesting. On kind of related note, over here in the more left-leaning US state where I live, the non-binary thing is in full swing in higher education and among teens. How is it there?
@Alpha-Budgie I would say so. West of Germany is pretty traditional and women older than 25 usually are pretty submissive and family oriented. I wouldn't say they expect them to be home though.
I'm curious, would you consider gender roles in Germany to be more traditional than in other western countries? I remember when I was in Stuttgart in 2008, they would send the kids home from school at random times. That implies to me that they expected women to be home. Am I wrong?
Any advice for good spots in Berlin? I'm here till the end the of the year.
