@CruiseControl Want a twisted experiment to test evolution for some fucked up conditions? Take a whole bunch of mice and isolate them for days at a time. One day they are locked in a continually rotating cylinder. Then the next day a completely sound, light and vibration proof environment. Then the next day they are in a glass cage with hungry predator birds above them, etc. Then after many days of torment introduce some ovulating female mice. If all of them get to fucking then they haven't been through enough. Calibrate the torture so that at least some of them are too shell shocked to do their primal duties, thus eliminating them. When a mouse is too screwed up to bang then give his female to another mouse with a dice roll. Once in a while do some tests for basic mice intelligence and use this to filter out mice who are too zonked out of it. Once in a while test for neurosis like over eating and also let them self-administer drugs. During that test only let the ones which show less of the negative behavior to reproduce. Do this for about 50 generations and then the mice would be psychosis and stress resistant.

@destraht The old adages parroted almost ironically by our ancestors are always true. What happens when you back an animal into a corner with no escape?

You can modify anyone

@CruiseControl I think that being humans with incredibly long maturation times and huge brains means that we can inevitably do anything if given enough cause. However, just because we can do anything doesn't mean that we aren't predisposed to certain things. Since we always seem to come back to having sex with each other the differences just haven't grown to be incredibly large as we've adapted. The culture has a greater affect than genetics because possibly no groups get a chance to approach enough time in isolation to differentiate that much. However, when you combine the genetics with the natural environment and culture its going to reinforce some qualities.

One thing that makes me get a little tired of conversations like this is that nobody is popping in to call me a Nazi and then straight pussing out and leaving since its not about Jews. Anyways.

It seems to me that the Scandinavians will eventually either just be hard bred out or that they will snap and go on a murderous rampage to clear out the Muslims and Africans. I don't see much middle ground and I'd have a hard time predicting which is more likely.

Look though, all humans go a fuck a bunch of people up once in a while and at the end of the day you have to be a certain kind of worked up to gut another person. I think that what is more telling is how they deal with each other during the off season.

@destraht And this is where we cross from the proposed idea that the behavior of Scandinavians is genetic into something that is cultural. The idea of

@CruiseControl I've already said that I don't think that "empathy" is the right term. Its more so avoiding of social conflict. That can be accomplished by not dealing with anything or using empathy. I don't think that GLO nailed it flawlessly but the task is pretty damn huge trying to sum up everyone in the context of thousands of years in just a few paragraphs so I'll give it a pass. Huge concepts there so good enough (for now).

It seems to me what you are describing in Minnesota is just about the same situation as in Scandinavia today. It doesn't seem that the culture has a fatal flaw in that it relies too much on the harsh environmental conditions to insulate itself from distant threats. That kind of weather was no joke until not all that long ago. So very minimal close to zero chances of 100,000 darker skinned Muslims coming up and just parking themselves up there because they wouldn't have the culture or genetic tweaks to survive, let alone thrive.

So now "Go away you're an asshole" isn't much of a threat or solution to anti-social behavior like it was. There are now shit loads of food and warmth everywhere so its a lot different. These people who adapted to relative isolation, harsh conditions and limited food don't seem to be doing to well in an highly interconnected world with material abundance.

@CruiseControl The people up in the North can nearly pass a death sentence onto someone by exiling them from the group during harsh times. "Go away we don't like you" is just the worst thing ever. Also "I'm not talking to so and so anymore" is much worse as well.
