Most people heard that nazzies were bad. But who knows how they rose to power and what tactics they used. We studied in school about ideologies and reegimes like nazy Germany, stalinist/communist Russia, communism in Europe, fascism in Italy, islam in the ottoman empire, influence of the pope. And this was in high school.

I consider that many people lack basic history knowledge.

@tchower that is literally one of my friends, or former friends. He found himself a girlfriend and broke all social contact with the group. At firs they were hanging out with us, but gradually they became more secluded. Until they broke up, then both got socially active. The answer from her was: I got totally fed up with him, there was nothing new.

One could chalk it up to hypoagency, but in the case of the paralyzed woman, her lifetime income/expense ratio just completely flipped and she's grasping at deep pocketed straws. Too many people rationalize this with, "Oh they have insurance." This is pissing in the risk pool that EVERY insured party must pay in to.

I think life is to easy in some parts of the world. Too many people are blinded by shinnies. Seeing things in a pragmatic way saves you a lot of trouble and money.

Reminds me of my (idiot) second girlfriend. She was looking for her first apartment and showed me this place she loved. It was a very old unreinforced 2 story cinder block building with 3 advanced staircase cracks running edge to edge on the front facade alone.
