Anyone ever use body weight exercises for strength training? It's not ideal for muscle growth, but residual muscle contraction at twice the average and the ability to put up high level one rep maxes makes you end up looking and performing really well. I can write a blog post about my experience with it if anyone is interested.
@NotALawyer Empathy from an individualistic viewpoint is incomprehensible and might seem like weakness. From a selfish gene perspective, the answer is simple: it is a group-welfare promoting trait. VERY schematically, once an "empathy-selfish-gene" spreads in a population, it benefits from compassionate behavior vs selfish individualism.
@NotALawyer That gets into the intent vs. action axis. If I give a million dollars to charity just so I can brag about it on Facebook and bask in the recognition, am I actually charitable? Same with empathy. Am I really empathizing with you, or just demonstrating my social aptitude and kindness for the benefit of you and onlookers?

What is empathy? I think it's more complicated than how people like to define it as putting yourself in others shoes. That's actually a simple thought process. It seems closer to relatability, like fitting in to groups. I doubt is has anything to do with compassion. I think it's essentially conformity and too much of it is a weakness.
