@bloodexorcist I understand where you're coming from. I'm currently in the process of building a local community. Doing this effectively involves using the system they're addicted to for your own reasons.
I also use it for professorial reasons. One of my skills is identifying content that's relevant to my target market and get them caught in a information feedback loop. This loop lands them on our site.
What I am talking about is building a community that transcends the local community. Take for example therepill using reddit as a platform for its ideology. And people within that platform pushing their ideologies (gaylubeoil). This wasn't as possible without the use of social media.
