They all lied.

The funny thing about truth is that it always comes out.

Something the bad guys never seem to take into account is a thing's nature. A thing will always act in accord with its nature. For example, Truth Himself will reappear visibly for all of human history to see at the end of history.

But until the end of time, we have to be content with aspects of truth coming out; little pieces of information here and there, data points that direct us to the larger truth of a given thing. Take COVID, for example. It's been a giant lie from the start — not the actual virus itself, but everything surrounding it.

What the Fauci emails, various studies, lived experience and conservative reporting all now reveal is pretty straightforward. The virus was created in a lab in Wuhan by the Marxists who run that country as part of research for biological warfare.

And my people perish for lack of it.

Father John Hardon, Servant of God, once described the media in this country as "Luciferian." He was spot-on because the media outlets do the work of their father, the Father of Lies. They spread error — not just mistakes — but actual willful errors to confound and confuse good people into accepting an agenda fundamentally opposed to the truth.

None of them is immune from this, and that includes Fox News, as we saw on election night and following. As a very quick aside, regarding Fox, what you see at night during their prime time is not Fox News. Fox News is largely driven by reporters like Chris Wallace — disingenuous liberals masquerading as journalists. The fact that Fox News isn't quite as bad as the others doesn't make them good or reliable. It just makes them not as bad. And as a further aside, that has nothing to do with loving the truth, but everything to do with money. Fox knows and understands that a large, politically conservative voting bloc exists, and they pander to them — at least more than CNN does, for example.

Truth vs. anti-truth.

Following on from yesterday's Vortex about this apostolate's 15-year anniversary and how things have evolved here, I have some thoughts to share.

The Faith is not preached in a vacuum. The souls that truth is brought to are not neutral, and they do not live in a neutral world. The world, as Our Blessed Lord described it Himself, is the enemy of truth and it will hate us who try to live by and preach the truth because it hated Him first — He who is Truth.

So that is the basic foundation on which we have to begin any effort at evangelization — not any kind of pie-in-the-sky, romanticized-monks-preaching-to-the-barbarians-and-them-all-being-baptized kind of image.

First, that effort took centuries and many of the monks and preachers were martyred or, at the bare minimum, suffered tremendously at the hands of the world. It comes with the territory. Each age has brought new challenges to each epoch of the Church — things that, while in principle are the same, are realized in the day-to-day quite differently.

A thousand or so years later, here we are: the 21st-century Church living an experience not only never lived out before in the life of the Church (or the world, for that matter), but with absolutely zero precedent.

This has been centuries in the making, originating with the evils in the hierarchy which brought about the Protestant revolt. The theological revolution, ultimately undermining the very notion of authority itself, brought about philosophical and political revolution.

These men have no shame or faith.

The season of Lent is, of course, focused on penance — a recalling of our duty to strive for holiness through acts of self-denial. Of course, all of that happens against the backdrop of the ultimate act of self-denial by the Incarnate Eternal Word (for our sake).

Giving things up, almsgiving, increased prayer life — none of that makes any sense at all if Our Blessed Lord did not die for us and rise from the dead. In fact, all that stuff would be absolutely stupid in the absence of the death and Resurrection of Our Lord.

One aspect of Our Lord's act of total self-giving that doesn't really get much attention during Lent is that it all came about by an act of betrayal. And not by just anyone, but one of Our Lord's inner circle, one of His disciples.

Bishop Sheen points out that so grieved was Our Blessed Lord by the betrayal of Judas, He cried aloud regarding it a thousand years before it even happened, as expressed in the 41st Psalm: "Even my trusted friend, who ate my bread, has raised his heel against me."

Through His creatures.

A favorite reference for Our Blessed Lord among Catholics and the 40,000 Protestant denominations is "Christ, Victor," but it is especially prevalent within Catholicism. In these perilous, uncertain and challenging times, it yields a great comfort in terms of the end.

However, let's look at this for a moment: Christ is God. As such, He has no rival because He's all-powerful, infinite, etc. That's kind of the philosophical definition of God. Satan is not God's rival. God has no rival.

Satan's rival is St. Michael. It is they who did battle following Lucifer's rebellion and, of course, the dragon lost. So since God has no rival, how precisely is He "victor"? He's not conquering anyone in the common understanding of being a victor, again because no one can challenge God.

You can defy Him. You can disobey Him. You can reject Him. But you can't challenge Him. It's not possible. He is infinite. Creatures are not. Game over before it even begins. So how is Christ "victor"?

It's a racket. They have no faith.

The topic of this Vortex may be very disturbing to some viewers, and children should not be allowed to view this without parents first viewing it.

To give you the headline, when a 25-year-old gay scandal resurfaced in the archdiocese, a thinly veiled death threat was made against a deacon by the archdiocese of Chicago: Keep his mouth shut, or else.

We'll be getting into all of that.

A little less than half of all Catholics in America live in the roughly three dozen archdioceses around the country — the larger population centers. To be an archbishop is a highly coveted job among career-minded men, and, in many instances, the archbishops of the archdioceses have compromised the Faith to get into those high offices.

In fact, they have polluted the minds and souls of the faithful and continue to do so with lies, theft and cover-up, along with doctrinal, moral and liturgical corruption on a scale not seen publicly since the Protestant revolt of the 16th century. It's not that smaller dioceses don't have their problems; it's just that, normally speaking, the catfighting and moral compromise that goes on behind the scenes to get the more prestigious positions ramps up the stakes.

We have and will continue to spotlight the evils in the archdiocese of Detroit. But today, we're going to turn our sights 300 miles to the west, to the archdiocese of Chicago, to a truly disturbing case. Before we begin, understand that Church Militant has been turning the soil and digging on this story for more than a year, and we have confirmed and vetted all our information as we always do. But this story is so horrible, we had to quadruple check everything.

'My people perish for lack of knowledge.'

So here's a straightforward question. Why is Church Militant so hated by Marxists in the culture and the Church? One reason is that we announce the truth. Period. The Left, Marxists, socialists — call 'em whatever you want — they're all of the same mindset.

They hate God and religion (Catholicism in particular) — and anyone who announces the truth they despise and must eliminate.

On the specific point of authentic Catholicism, which frequently overlaps with politics in the material world, the Marxists are, as phase one, launching a censorship campaign, the likes of which have never really even been imagined before in America. But it is in full-blown mode.

And it's not really, for them anyway, a question of theology. It's all about bowing down to the State, a State they have seized control of, which means, of course, bowing down to them. But censorship and demonization online and in social media chat is only the minor part of this.

Also in phase one is the enlisting of corporate America, as we have seen time and time again in various companies stepping in and deplatforming, canceling contracts, pulling away services — you name it.

Not exactly.

There are all sorts of Scripture passages that are pulled completely out of context and/or misinterpreted. The real meaning is often buried under the pretense of some passing fad, contorted to fit the flavor-of-the-month theology or a societal fad. One, of course, that immediately jumps to mind is the favorite line from Scripture for wimps, cowards and theological lightweights: "Do not judge."

It doesn't mean what you think it means, liberals.

But one that has gone overlooked (but that is very much in the same vein) is the wildly misunderstood "turn the other cheek." There isn't a wimpy-Catholic, liberal or conflict-avoidance coward who doesn't have this right at the top of his list of quotes to use to virtue signal and excuse his lack of zeal in confronting evil and injustice.

But what does it actually mean? Was the Son of God really telling His followers to just be doormats and not oppose injustice — as many like to claim — to cover their own cowardice? Far from it. In fact, recall that when Our Lord Himself was struck across the face, He didn't turn the other cheek, but actually confronted the guard who did it (at his trial before the Sanhedrin), saying, "If I speak the truth, then why do you strike Me?"
