@Fawk_Face

if you do something only because you think it will make you feel good or keep you from feeling worse, then what you are doing, i'm may or may not be evil

but it surely isn't good. as i said, human beings are incapable of good.

@AFTSOV

Good deeds are their own reward -- they do bring good feelings, they do give you rewards, but they aren't done in pursuit of those rewards, otherwise they wouldn't be good.

exactly, you do what you think is good, not to help people but to help your self, it's all rooted in selfishness.

Those who are generous when no one is around, and only give because it is right to do, are good.

as i said, human beings are absolutely incapable of good, they do it not for anyone but themselves, otherwise they wouldn't do it, it doesn't matter if the entire world is watching or not as long as you are, the most important witness is yourself, because that witness is the one who gives you the chemical reward in your brain, that is what you are really after, the feeling not making the world a better place.

The idea that something must be done because it is right comes first,

you only do right, because you think it will either make you feel good, or because you think it will keep you from feeling worse, morality of all things is a human institution, a human illusion and it's just an illusion that we have created to reward chemical receptors in our brain.

If this line of thinking is perverted, where the feelings or rewards precedes the action, then it is not good, and is done out of selfishness.

see now your getting the idea, but this is every action, every last thing you have ever done in your life since before you came out of your mother has been done to feel good or keep from feeling worse, nothing you have ever done has been good, just the illusion of good, you, me, we are absolutely incapable of ever doing pure good, it is a mental and physical impossibility.

In conclusion I don't help people because it makes me feel good,

yes you do.

@AFTSOV

For an action to be considered good and right, it must be done for its own sake. I give some change to the homeless people sometimes not because I want to show off my generosity on Instagram, but because it is right to help those less fortunate when I am in a position to give liberally.

that's a fundamental misunderstanding of self, you don't do it for either reason, you do it because it either makes you feel good, or because it keeps you from feeling worse.

as i said human beings are incapable of good, anything we do in the name of good comes from selfishness inherently.

Where have you developed this idea from?

my experiences in life.

@Fawk_Face

There are both men AND women who if they say they'll do something but later don't want to do it...They'll still do it, You just haven't met them yet.

they do it for them, not for you.

@billybob you are describing women, not "human beings". Men are very much capable of doing good. It evolved as an indication of abundance, and thus quality - so they could be selected by women while at the same time you g doing to their tribe.

It's the current state of affairs that is psychopathic, i.e. gynocentrism, that's why being altruistic is a losing game nowadays.

@Fawk_Face

human beings are inherently evil creatures that are incapable of good, all the "good" we do comes out of selfishness

the only reason human beings do anything is either because we think it will make us feel good, or because it will keep us from feeling worse.

the idea human beings are capable of anything good is wrong.

Oh so when you go out, You just murder babies?

not me personally but i'm sure it's someones lifestyle, the point that i'm trying to make, is it doesn't matter whether people honor you, or they value you, or they care about you.

human beings are inherently evil and will betray you to your death in an instant.

@Fawk_Face

If no one honored nor respected one another we would all kill each other or sabotage one another.

that's what human beings do all day every day.

@Fawk_Face

If we value one another we will be more likely to give back to each other thus further building each other up to greater heights.

i have never found this to be the case, i find that if we value each other we cooperate and exploit each other until all value has either been drained for vanishes.

still, that doesn't explain why honor is important to masculinity.
