TRP Backup Progress
Published 10/03/18 by SaladLover69 [6 Comments]

So I backed up the top 1000 posts the other day and made a little website to display and browse them (Available Here). The goal is to eventually provide a complete browsable form of the sub (Especially with a ban on the horizon). I've turned to PushshiftAPI in order to get around the new Reddit API's limits. I managed to pull 10,000 submissions within a few minutes so getting the whole sub shouldn't take too long. In order to make this browsable I'll need to get a search feature implemented which should be out soon.

Made some visual improvements as well made the site more mobile friendly.

If you have any ideas for features/improvements PM me or leave a comment.

@campfire451 Thanks, I'm hoping to keep it as simple and easy to use as possible. I thought about compiling an ebook, but I'd have to handwrite everything from markup to latex. I'd be up for it, but there might be some legal issues publishing it and honestly, I don't have the time at the moment because of school. Organizing into categories is a good suggestion, I'd have to hand do that as well though.

That's a very nicely formatted and clean website.

Search is a good idea but perhaps that's too targeted for browsing and sampling. Another option might be to organize the posts into categories or themes.

You could also organize it into a nice e-book for offline reading.

@Sammii333 Well the main goal would be to backup all of the data that already exists on the sub. I'm not currently looking to host new content. Is there Red Pill Women based content I should look into backing up as well? There already exists a separate redpill forum for women on this very site: https://www.forums.red/i/RedPillWomen/

I was wondering if there would be different groups for the red pill woman, like on reddit as well, it's not for feminism or anything ridiculous like that. It's just I see that it would be more appropriate if men had their own group where they can be free to Express their experiences and issues without persecution or comments as well as a separate group for the women to Express theirs.
