The oft-quoted line from the Patristic period of the Church — the floor of Hell is paved with the skulls of bishops — has taken on a new sense of urgency in our own day. The U.S. hierarchy has more belief in and devotion to COVID than they do of the Blessed Sacrament. And on the specific point of the Blessed Sacrament, there's no easy or more straightforward way to say this other than that the U.S. hierarchy (collectively) is on the road to Hell for its refusal to condemn Joe Biden's weekly sacrilege of receiving Holy Communion.

Likewise, not only is it the case that Biden presents himself, but then they give him Holy Communion. They are on the record publicly declaring he can receive Holy Communion, and that they will give him the Body and Blood of Our Lord. They deliver — knowingly and in full consent — the precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity into the hands of an actual child killer, who, with almost guaranteed certainty, has already excommunicated himself for his persistent, public manifest sin.

He directly violates canon law every time he gets in the line for Holy Communion. The deacon, priest or bishop who gives him Holy Communion directly violates canon law. Joe Biden is excommunicated by virtue of his own action, yet no bishop in the United States publicly acknowledges that. And you can count on one hand the number who publicly say he shouldn't be receiving.

In fact, by our count, more clergy have come out and said he should receive than have said he shouldn't. How is it that the vast majority of the U.S. bishops hope to escape Hell? And their disbelief in it won't save them from it. In fact, it virtually guarantees their going to it.

Fake science and the bishops.

In case you haven't noticed, the U.S. hierarchy is all over the map with their individual and conference statements. It stems from decades of poor formation, acceptance of homosexuality among their members, lying, cheating, deceiving, covering up sex abuse and sexual harassment: This is the lot the faithful have been delivered to "lead" them.

Likewise, it should come as no surprise that all this attending evil has polluted the bishop aquarium so extensively that bishops the faithful believe to be good are a constant sign of confusion — issuing unclear statements, weird conclusions, condemning evil after the fact and so forth.

The U.S. bishops have been dumped into a blender, and it's been turned to puree. And as a result, faithful Catholics are being cornered by their inconsistency. One big area is their all-over-the-map response to the COVID stuff. But for the most part, it's been a complete caving to the government's tyranny with what has turned out to be a lot less science and a lot more politics.

From almost the very beginning, this whole COVID scene has had the stench of overreach, mismanagement, politics, manipulation, coercion and artificial crisis. And the U.S. hierarchy has gone along with every bit — being among the first to shutter churches, demand masks, refuse to challenge the narrative, and now, even as states like Texas drop the mask mandate, they demand it remain in place on church property.

And now, as the dawn of the highly controversial and sometimes deadly so-called vaccine appears and works its way into the culture, some bishops refuse to get off their knees to the altar of State worship, insisting that only those who have been jabbed can return to Mass.

It's being used to kill souls, not just some bodies.

The world is in the grip of a panic created by so-called experts over a virus that has an almost 99% survival rate. If you'll recall, about a year ago, everyone seemed willing to believe that this very well might be the next Black Death and was willing to take precautions, including sacrificing their freedom and liberty, crashing the most successful economy in U.S. history and, for Catholics, losing virtually all access to the sacraments.

But a funny thing happened on the way to near-extinction of the human race, it actually didn't happen. At first, we were told, "Stop the world and all life as we know it for 14 days while we 'flatten the curve.'" Then it was, "Mask up." Then it was social distancing, and one by one, every normal facet of life simply vanished.

But, after a while, there was something that seemed contrived about all of it, as stories of various scientists contradicting each other kept coming up: Masks work; no they don't; now wear two, or six, or whatever. Every day there was new weird order, medical information, all of it contradicting whatever you had heard the day before.

The World Health Organization lied. China lied. And then, all of a sudden, like they had gotten some secret memo, the media and the so-called experts found their footing and started lying as well. Soon, the only people allowed to speak publicly were the mask Nazis and Dr. Fauci — who still doesn't seem to have gotten his "facts" straight about masks.

They all taste the same because they are the same.

Each day here at Church Militant, as part of our ongoing Novena to the Holy Spirit for Justice and our Rosary (also for justice in the nation), we pray for increased strength to fight two specific evils rampaging through the Church and the culture — modernism and Marxism.

And, understand, these two are little else than different sides of the same coin, intimately connected. One does its damage in the theological realm, the other in the secular realm, but they are both moving to the same goal. That goal is the de-spiritualization of man, the reducing of human dignity to being merely a servant of the State.

This is why the Church must be "merged" with the State: To present the facade of some spiritual aspect or dynamic to the assault on human dignity (which is, of course, ultimately from God since we are made in his image and likeness). Modernism and Marxism are like M&M's candy — peanut or plain — slightly different looking on the outside, although still very close in appearance, on the inside, they are identical.
