How do you compete with guys that have better social skills than you? I got a friend who's more spontaneous than me, so whenever we're talking to chicks he's got them laughing before I even have the chance to open my mouth. Key thing I've noticed is he doesn't care what he's saying. Its always a spontaneous joke. I wanna reach that level of not taking a conversation seriously which, as weird as it sounds, is a frame I have only when I have no pending work/things stressing me.
How many of y'all think a war or any similar global catastrophe is likely in the next few years?

@Typo-MAGAshiv Nah I won't even mention it. But what I mean is, this topic's going to come up eventually when she remembers she forgot(her family wished me). In that case the "Ohh its nothing, no worries" response doesn't work as well. Kinda says that I don't mind her walking all over me.
I gotta make sure to sound like I'm not hurt but at the same time it isn't the best move forgetting things about me.

When the 'soooo sorry I completely forgot' convo comes up, what do I say?
Reads like you do indeed give a turd, but let's be realistic. One month together? Get concerned about this when she's been with you a year. Just shrug as you say, "we've only been dating for a month," and move on. Don't say 'it's alright' or anything like that, just deflect, and move on. Thanksgiving is coming up, followed by Christmas. If this failure is significant to you, and she hasn't planned to at least exchange Christmas cards later, then you should be concerned and take whatever action you see fit.
In future though, consider investing in a reliable ready reference you can pick up and study to better prepare yourself for engaging the opposite sex. I'd suggest that you get yourself a copy of Doc Love's "The System: The Dating Dictionary". Doc Love, also known as the late Tom Hodges, wrote a weekly advice column that's mirrored on several sites and a podcast. While his media is a bit pricey, it's a solid foundation a guy can branch out from, but I would also suggest you review his advice column to decide if his view on dating and relationships is aligned with what you aspire for yourself.
