@Apollo it wasn’t so much doormatting as the other couple is the Brother in Law (and his gf) of my best friend. So at that point it was either come off as desperate by demanding a 1 on 1 or agree to the double and at minimum grow out my social circle with a couple I already see pretty regularly.

That said, my date who requested the double absolutely knocked down my attraction level to her by asking for it. So I went for the experience first and foremost. And afterwards I made it clear that if I asked for a 2nd date, it would be just she and I

Why do you think you'd have to make any demands, let alone that the date be one on one? When she sought to double up the date, you then had two situations that should've told you this chick had low to flagging interest in you. If you'd been aware of that, you'd have been able to tell her thanks, but no thanks while taking the initiative to cancel the date all together.

Field report and advice needed

I got the number of a girl through a friend after she told them she was into me. I called her and asked her out, she agreed. Day of she asks if I’d like to double date with friend and her bf who set us up. I don’t want to (ruins any chance of intimacy) but I play it cool and agree because she’s shy I don’t really care either way.

Date goes well we all have fun, laughing etc. no kiss and 0 close contact other than some light kino initiated by me. girl says she wants to see me again over text later that night.

Do I even bother calling her again? Feel like the double date was ASD to keep me at arms length

You can call her if you want, but I doubt she'll pick up the phone, let alone return the call. Congrats, she only thought you were a beta/delta when she had that gullible mutual female friend approach you, but now she knows you are without a doubt.

Was out golfing with a buddy this weekend. We finish up and head to the bar on the course to meet up with his BIL and his gf. His GF brought some friends. Long and short is one of GF friends told BIL GF she was into me and passed along her phone number.

I’m looking to set up the date. I’m not much of a texter (30 y/o attorney), what’s RP’s take on calling her up to set it down? Girl is 26

Reads like you've got good instincts and planning there. Don't second guess yourself. However, in the future consider investing in a reliable ready reference you can pick up and study to better prepare yourself for engaging the opposite sex. I'd suggest that you get yourself a copy of Doc Love's "The System: The Dating Dictionary". Doc Love, also known as the late Tom Hodges, wrote a weekly advice column that's mirrored on several sites and a podcast. While his media is a bit pricey, it's a solid foundation a guy can branch out from, but I would also suggest you review his advice column to decide if his view on dating and relationships is aligned with what you aspire for yourself.
