Today begins this years "No Nut November" challenge. Hopefully some of the suggestions I made earlier you might find to be helpful during this challenge. I'm not in any way affiliated with the claimed "Official" No Nut November website, nor am I in anyway affiliated with the official No Fap website. Links provided for reference and context only. Also don't forget to check out @GaiusTiberius old post here for more useful info.

I'm in no ways concerned with other peoples thoughts on if it's a good thing, bad thing, or whatever. I see this as an opportunity for guys to challenge themselves to establish greater self control, to that end I'm offering my support and availability to those of you who wish to use the month of November to those ends. I think going into 2022, this challenge will provide us an opportunity to collect solid information on habits we don't want to continue, so that you can use the following year to engage and overcome them.

Best of luck to all of you who participate.

We're now a week away from November. Halloween's a few days away, Thanksgiving's right around the corner, and Christmas will close out what has been the interesting year that we'll soon remember as 2021. Last week I asked if anyone was planning to participate in this years "No Nut November" challenge. I imagine that there are some of you who're not particularly comfortable with being public about that sort of thing. I totally understand. I also want to repeat that I am not in any way affiliated with the claimed "Official" No Nut November website, nor am I in anyway affiliated with the official No Fap website. Links provided for reference and context only.

For those of you unaware what "No Nut November" is, I refer you to this article on AmericanThinker dot com posted in 2019. I'm in no ways concerned with the internet rhetoric regarding other peoples thoughts on if it's a good thing, bad thing, or whatever. I see it as an opportunity for guys to challenge themselves to establish greater self control so I'm offering my support and availability to those of you who wish to use the month of November to those ends. I think going into 2022, this challenge will provide you an opportunity to collect solid information on habits you don't want to continue, so that you can use the following year to engage and overcome them.

Regarding goal setting. Consider setting stepping stone goals you can maintain and build on year round after the challenge concludes. Do you use pornographic material as a visual stimulus aid? Then make it a goal to remove any such content from your computer, flash drives, external hard drives, book shelves, sock drawers, video cabinets or anywhere else you might be keeping it. Focus on removing any and all distractions you find support or encourage you to masturbate from your home or living space.

Whether this is your first time participating or not, don't quit no matter how many times you lapse, whether it's once, twice, ten times, or more. While the ultimate goal of the challenge is for you to regain full control over yourself, this will be particularly difficult for many of you, especially first time participants out there. I don't want any of you to despair through this. If you masturbate several times a day, aim to reduce that frequency to once a day. If you masturbate several times a week, aim to bring that frequency down to once a week. If you masturbate once a week and want to reduce the frequency further still, set the goal and work towards meeting it.

Regarding troubleshooting and diagnostics If you choose to participate in this challenge, document your progress and any lapses you experience. It helps to have something that lets you visualize both the challenge and the difficulties you experience during it. Keep it simple. A memo pad, calendar entry, a journal entry or even a sheet of paper where you jot down how many days you've refrained from masturbation with a simple "NM-001", with "NM" being for not masturbating. You should also note any lapses with a simple "M-12:15AM" next to the date to record the time it occurred, with "M" referring to masturbating.

If anything happens to prompt you to masturbate, write down a brief note on what you think contributed. Did you stumble across some old porn you didn't remove from your computer and during some idle time jerk off? Did you have a particularly hard day at work and do it to help unwind? Do you live with an absolute harpy of a woman who stresses you out and masturbating is one of the few things you can do to remain relaxed around her? Do you live by yourself and just jerk off to kill time? Write those things down. The more information you collect on your habits, the more information you have to better understand yourself and can form better plans of engagement to overcome them.

We're a week and a half away from November. For most people, it means Halloween is a few days away with Thanksgiving right around the corner, and Christmas at the end of the year. However, if you're a subscriber to the NoFap tribe, November is also the time of the "No Nut November" challenge.

I imagine there maybe some of you who're not particularly comfortable with being public on this matter. Regardless, I am not in any way affiliated with the claimed "Official" No Nut November website, nor am I in anyway affiliated with the official No Fap website. Links provided for reference and context only. I'm just curious to know if anyone's planning to participate on their end.

@Aragorn

Are there accountability groups here?

You can find the accountability tribe here. If that doesn't work, consider joining the No Fap forum and ask for one there.

Colleges Have Classes about Responsibly Consuming Porn—Here's What the Curriculum Often Misses

Does it truly benefit the future of academic programs to consider the issue of porn without also discussing the many proven harmful effects?

It’s back-to-school season, and going back after a break can bring up some mixed feelings.

For one thing, it’s sad to say goodbye to summer or winter break or spring break and its freedom. For another, a new school year or fresh semester brings a spirit of learning and academic possibility.

Especially at the university level, students around the world have the option of studying basically any subject imaginable. As our world grows, we can see these changes trickle down into the world of academia where they can be critiqued and considered.

So it is logical and relevant that the emerging field of “porn studies” and “porn literacy” curriculum is gaining ground. A topic as influential as porn in our world today deserves examination, right? After all, if you can study puppetry on the university level, you should be able to study a global industry as pervasive as porn.

But where did this all begin, and is it truly helpful?
