@Guy The annoying part is just being underground like that, not the risk. There is no way in hell that I would camp out in a place like that with my woman and a bunch of hyperventilating other women. If there were hundreds of B-52s on their way to drop random big ass bombs everywhere than sure, but it's mostly been precision strikes on hard military targets. @Guy The mistake is take anything that America (, especially Biden's America) says at face value. The problem is that people do so, like my Californian family. If you're a CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WP believing Leftist normy then they'll have you believing that a retreat is prudence when it's really just being afraid of your own ghost. America retreated just to make headlines to confirm it's own propaganda. America creates enough of it's own wind now that the people there believe it's the weather. Notice that all Russia had to do was to be quiet and to ocassionally say "What are you even talking about, your crazy" for America to play out it's own fantasies as constricted by it's own delirious declarations.
America just tired itself out doing nothing, and then sold it's retreat as virtue.

The Jewish "oligarchs" have run the country into the ground while hooking up with foreign Jews. The difference between now and USSR days is that Russia within Russia's borders has managed to produce a staggering quantity of grain such that they are I believe the world's largest exporters now. It's not even close to the same dynamics. Ukraine doesn't have value for Russia, since any any insurgency would quickly outweigh the benefits of a resource that their already glutted with.

But at the end of the day, this is just posturing by an irrelevant country. If Russia didn't have nukes, no one would care what Putin does. There are plenty of shitty dictators in the world.
If an invasion does happen, It will be swift. They can't afford an extended war. And they'll divide the country into east and west.
I have a friend in Kharkiv at the moment, which is one of the first cities that'll go if the invasion does happen. People are living normally there right now. But these things happen quickly. The smart ones have already moved out of the country or towards western Ukraine.
The difference between Ukraine and Taiwan is that Taiwan has actual value.
Didn't they use to grow a large part of Soviet food in Ukraine? Russia just wants a buffer between NATO and itself. And to stop their reliance on other countries for food. Or we're just trying to find logic behind the madness of a crazy dictator.
