Perhaps it's inevitable.

I'm Michael Voris on our final day aboard the Fall Retreat at Sea off the New England coast.

Revolution sprang from these shores 250 years ago. Civil war erupted within these shores 160 years ago. And many citizens are thinking civil war is on the way again. Those are the findings of two recent polls that say a large plurality of Americans believe Americans will be killing each other within 10 years. A Zogby poll puts the number at 46%. An Economist/YouGov poll puts it as 43%. In neither poll did more Americans think there would not be a civil war. Those are trend lines that have ratcheted up considerably in the past decade.

Interestingly, even the Left, the commies, are beginning to comment on all this in agreement, that yes, civil war is a distinct possibility in the foreseeable future. Of course, they blame it on an overreaction by one of their favorite bogeymen, "Christian nationalists," whatever that means exactly. The calm, progressive, mild-mannered states are the victims, while the mean, religious, gun-toting crazies are the villains.

Whatever you might think about the possibility of a civil war, it is extremely telling that almost half of Americans think the likelihood of it happening is pretty darn good. Why would so many Americans think civil war is possible, even likely? Well, the commies guess that since we are "losing," we will resort to violence more readily and quickly. But what they don't seriously address is why so many Americans think the country is being lost.

See, for communists, children being killed in the womb or sexually transitioned or taught perversion in schools, that's all perfectly normal, and to think otherwise or oppose it makes you a bigot or a homophobe or a racist or a white nationalist. The irony is completely lost on them that the very act of labeling normal people as all that is what normal people are sick of. In short, the commies have pushed too far, and people are done; they've had enough.

The bottom line is that huge numbers of Americans are looking down the road and asking, "Where does this all end?" And a huge number of them are answering that question, "It concludes at the end of a gun barrel." Right or wrong, necessary or not, as long as the commies keep pushing, the scales are going to keep tipping.

No war ever just starts out of the blue. There are always precipitating factors and multiple dynamics that prepare the way for it. The only thing commies and Christians seem to agree on today is that many of the necessary factors and dynamics are falling into place more and more. And all of this on the eve of what may be the most hotly contested election in U.S. history, a history that began in violence right here on these shores.

It's now becoming a question of survival.

I'm Michael Voris, coming to you from onboard our fall Retreat at Sea as we steam back toward New York.

The experience of Catholics in America, which has been the theme of this retreat, the history of the Church here, went from bad to good and then back to its present-day bad.

And, in truth, the present day (as we have said before) is nothing less than a total dumpster fire. For example, the bishop statistics group just last week published its findings that the number of Catholics who attend Mass each Sunday has plummeted even further, down now to just 17%.

There's not really a need to go through all the depressing (yet revealing) stats other than to say no conclusion can be drawn other than the Church in the United States is headed for extinction.

A number of sociological data points also point to impending shipwreck. For example, Gallup published its poll last week and it was immediately seized upon by atheists like the Freedom From Religion Foundation as proof of their success.

It revealed for the first time since Gallup has asked the question that a majority of Americans no longer identify as simply "religious" — 51%, in fact. And as you might already have surmised, the future outlook is even more bleak, as large numbers of young people skew the poll even further.

And as a population trends more and more atheist, or at the very least "religiously indifferent," the politics will be sure to follow. Politics is always downstream of culture. Leaders rarely actually lead. They follow what their constituents want so they can hold on to their own power.

How Marx won control of the US.

I'm Michael Voris, coming to you from onboard Church Militant's autumn Retreat at Sea off the New England coast.

From the country's founding following the War of Independence (and really before), this entire region was the most anti-Catholic in all the colonies. Laws on the books made it essentially illegal to be Catholic or made daily conditions so bad that good numbers of Catholics (the very few there were) went to the southern colonies.

It was only when the waves of Catholic immigrants began arriving here, first as a result of the Irish potato famine beginning in 1845, that the demographics began to shift. Interestingly, however, just as the Irish started coming off the boats on foot, so did Karl Marx arrive, in his written contributions to the New York Daily Tribune.

Both he and Engels, but especially Marx, were anxious to gain communism a foothold in the developing nation, so their editorials were a means to do that.

So involved were they and anxious to see the relatively new country, less than a hundred years old, adopt communism, that they even wrote commentaries on the U.S. Civil War.

New England was the power center of the country, at least intellectually and culturally, as it had been the original geographical nexus.

New York was the locus, with its burgeoning media influence, and Marx recognized that and started pumping his communist propaganda into the infant nation's bloodstream.

Important to note, his doctrines hadn't even really made it onto the Church's radar in any significant fashion at this point. He had about a 40-year head start and was able to lay the groundwork before the Church even really knew about him.

Wiped out in a flash.

I'm Michael Voris, coming to you from our autumn Retreat at Sea, traveling up the coast of New England and stopping along significant places in the history of the Catholic Church.

Today we are in Boston, ground zero for the unearthing of the homosexual-clergy child sex abuse scandal that has and continues to devastate the Church in the country (and really throughout large portions of the Church).

More on that evil a little later.

The history of the Church in the United States has been one overall of extraordinary compromise by the U.S. hierarchy with the prevailing decay of morality. And nowhere might that be more evident than right here in Boston, going back to the 1960s, as the sexual revolution was getting a full head of steam.

The cardinal at the time, Richard Cushing, was extremely powerful, so much so that politicians feared him. One bad word from him and their careers would be over in the state.

In the 1940s, as the nascent birth control movement was still finding its footing, some state lawmakers introduced a bill here to legalize it. Cushing came out strongly against it, and it went down to a thunderous defeat as 57% of voters rejected the measure.

Fast forward 20 years and Massachusetts was the sole remaining state where birth control was still illegal. Again, the measure came up, and this time, Cushing folded like a cheap suit. Why? Because of the influence of a Jesuit priest who was in his ear — John Courtney Murray.

Perhaps more than a slight overlap.

There is a pretty close connection between the MAGA movement and what might also be termed "Make Catholicism Great Again."

While the latter is certainly not a movement as typically understood, it is a real thing among many faithful Catholics. There exists an overlap — the famous Venn diagram perspective where a certain relationship exists when overlapping concerns are shared.

Obviously, MAGA and MCGA do not share everything; if they did, they would be identical, not just overlapping. That said, the overlap is not insignificant.

And if you doubt that, just ask Biden's FBI why they infiltrated catholic parishes around the country, lying to Congress that they had not, and then cast their actions as monitoring supposed domestic terror and violence threats, the same charges they hurl at MAGA types.

Also if you doubt this, just check with the Vatican-approved journal that published an article in 2017 saying essentially the exact same thing, warning the world that conservative pro-Trump Catholics are a "threat."

What do both of these reports have in common? What's their overlap?

Easy. Church Militant.

The Vatican-approved document pointed to Church Militant by name, long before Biden's corrupt FBI did. Likewise, the FBI report also did, right there on page four.

What on earth would both the Vatican and the FBI see in this little ol' apostolate that they would each name us so explicitly and clearly?

Again, simple.

They understand that we understand the intimate link between the Catholic Church and America. Forces in each organization want both the Church and the republic transformed, paved over, to make way for worldwide communism, trafficking today under the euphemism of "globalism."

Evil has crept into total control.

It all began very slowly at first, almost completely out of sight, in fact. U.S. communism did not advertise itself as that, but rather as socialism. Truth be told, with the exception of some economic points of view, the two are essentially the same.

"Communism" is just the name given to the movement later. It began as "socialism." And just as it was beginning here in the United States in the late 1800s, so too was Pope Leo XIII condemning it, since it had already gained a strong foothold in Europe.

Socialism, by its very name, presents itself as the answer to society's woes, and communism has had a place in America since the satanic social dogma was conjured up.

Karl Marx and his comrade Friedrich Engels presented their worldview of the "haves" pitted against the "have nots," and cleverly peppered their propaganda into printing presses at the New York Daily Tribune in the early 1850s.

And in Europe where there was not really that much of a middle class, the "rich versus the poor" message played much better there.

In the United States, however, where a middle class was developing rapidly, it was a harder sell. So the socialists associated themselves with the "worker" and pushed for unions, trying to create a wedge between rich and poor.

They called it "labor" and "management." While some strides were made on behalf of workers, the desired class warfare never really materialized, and the socialist political party never really was able to establish itself as a standalone party.

Do not follow rogue and disobedient clerics.

Is Jorge Bergoglio actually the pope? No, of course not, we're told. He's a "heretic." He's a "false prophet." He's even the "anti-Christ." Take your pick — but whatever of those he is, he is absolutely "not the pope."

Those are the mad ramblings of various Catholics, laity and clergy alike, who have succumbed to the temporary applause of Catholics looking for a quick answer to a centuries-old problem. And that's just the public dynamic.

There are quite a few other Catholic internet figures who run websites and "news" organizations who do believe all that — privately — and use their public influence to promote those ideas through their platforms, but don't have the courage to come right out and say it because they are afraid it will impact business. They make the bombs and let others throw them. Cowards.

Frankly, in some ways, they're even worse than the public big mouths, because they can do even more damage than the bomb throwers, which is the point of their sneakiness.

But for the moment, let's talk about the bomb throwers and their position that Jorge Bergoglio is not the pope. This "he is not the pope" argument is specious because of all the other much bigger problems that arise.

If he isn't, then who is? If there isn't a pope right now, then we are all sedevacantists, which opens up a whole other can of worms. Remember, there are "Catholic" nut jobs who say Benedict was not the pope, nor John Paul, nor Paul VI. So why not say that with Francis?

If he isn't now, was he ever? Or did he just stop being pope sometime after the conclave? Even the self-anointed defenders of the faith crowd can't agree on that.

If the conclave was invalid, why haven't any cardinals (Burke, Müller) who were in the conclave said it was invalid?
