@SwarmShawarma no, I can't vibe with your opinion that I don't agree with. As there are a number of Linux-haters who legitimately think that it's like early Windows, a person can't assume that you're being cynical.
To people who don't use computers daily, they generally don't know what to look for or even care. They just need to solve their problem.
I could put a Linux distro, Win 11, and OS X in front of my retired 75-year-old father, and he wouldn't know or care. All he needs is his login (which he generally disables) and working internet so he can read the newspaper and figure out what time Alabama is playing LSU on Saturday.
@Typo-MAGAshiv 2K was great. I felt like there was a version of Windows that finally worked and didn't crash when you weren't ready for it to crash. I gave up on Windows in 2008 or so for personal use... since I couldn't stand how bloated the product became. At the time Apple did the desktop experience better.
Once Apple started using their own processors (instead of Intel's) I had to toss it in the trash since for what I do, most folks (linux and windows) are using x64 chips and cross-compiling custom shit to ARM (and testing it all over) is a pain in the ass.. so unless you're paying me tons of money in a suitcase, it's just not worth it.
The first year or two with Linux was a challenge, but I am over that hurdle now and see no reason to turn back that isn't in my (business) financial interest.
I feel your pain. They don't make it easy.
Read More@SwarmShawarma No. Just no.
Please list any aspect of Win95 that is like Linux. Most GUIs are better, the system is far more stable, you can use 64 bit integers and drive/device access is far more straightforward from the command line.
@Typo-MAGAshiv 2000 was great because it was really windows NT 5. I used it until I was forced to move to XP. I still have a few virtualized instances that I use from time to time for development. I moved a couple of businesses to virtualized XP, and retired the last physical XP box I supported 2-3 years ago.
I only use Win10/11 to support clients I work with. All of my business runs on Linux and only interacts with OSX or Windows when there is something that is specific to those platforms... which for me is nothing. For applications I build/manage for clients the "handoff" (to OSX/Windows) is usually some virtualized instance on-premise or in a datacenter.
Read More@Vermillion-Rx This is the first I am reading about him - I didn't know about the channel. It's good content out there for folks who are new to the space (or movement, or whatever we're calling this culture). Good stuff. (TTF)
@Durek_The_Bald I'm glad the "Dragons" recognized this con for what it was, and wanted no part of it. I'm curious as to how they got this past the producers who screen applicants. The talkative one seemed more sad and distressed instead of eager, and realized that her plan wasn't much of a plan. I've seen the Canadian version (as welll as the US' "Shark Tank") but now I'm interested in the UK version.
@Acela_nextel Every time I think Reddit has actually reached the bottom of the barrel in terms of "fetishizing" every behavior, they find a way to go lower.
@theultmatecad Not sure you need an essay. At your age hypergamy is real for women - she fucked up, as many do. Stay you, stay fit, stay successful. Sure it hurts, and it's a blow to your ego, but in the end, you're still the prize. Make your college plans, make your post college plans, and execute.
When I was a senior in high school I had a girlfriend and continued to date LD while we were both away at college (it was maybe a two-hour drive between the schools). She cheated on me. We broke up. I dated around and didn't care. She hooked up with that guy a few more times and wound up pregnant and aborted the baby. She hasn't been right since.
We hooked up once (post-abortion) when she was dating a friend of mine, he found out and they broke up. He was a simp (kinda still is) and later was a good employee for me on Wall Street a few years later. She met an older guy, had two kids with him, and they live together, unmarried, in a two-family house where the other unit is occupied by his mother. I went on to have a successful career, married a good woman, run my own business, and have two amazing sons in a nice house in the suburbs.
At the time I was devastated - how could she do that to me? I didn't have the benefit of knowing the ways of RP - AWALT is real. She has no options (and another 40 pounds) and works a boring job. I have a wife who loves me and over-compensates because she doesn't want me banging someone else. I heard., years ago, that she regrets hooking up with that other guy. I invited her to dinner years later and wound up making out with her. We could have had sex but I didn't want it - more importantly, I didn't need it - she was worthless to me (as in she adds no value).
So, there's your essay - it hurts, but you're young enough to know that she likely isn't the one (as in the forever one). Work out and sharpen your focus -beyond being cathartic, it will continue to make you the man you should be - one that creates and maintains abundance, and has the fortitude to leave that thot in the streets where she belongs.
Read MoreI agree on the lack of experience based on his writing - but we're supposed to be here to teach, so I tried. What he does with the advice is up to him.
@Acela_nextel Not sure where you're looking, or more importantly, what you're looking for. There are plenty of mixed couples (not Becky and Tyrone this week, but actual, married couples with children) floating around in suburbia (where I live now) and in "the city" where I used to live. While the "blacked" phenomenon is really fetish porn, I've never had problems approaching white women (or any other women). I've had ONSs in Midtown Manhattan and in suburban Alabama - it's more about me, less about my "lack of whiteness".
The only thing that's too conservative in this discussion is YOU. Be good (financially successful) look good (LIFT MFer!) and act good (have game; don't be a 'sperg) - if a WW is what you want, you can have one (or more). Stop watching so much TV - out here in the real world, you'd be surprised how many women don't care if you look good and are charming.
