@JamesSkepp forgive me. I missed these posts. It's too late. It was time for another upgrade but I certainly appreciate you writing this out.

@TheSingularity

  1. Does it do anything after pressing power button? Make a beep sound, fans spinning, HDD spinning up, DVD spinning up?

  2. Does is POST or can you get into BIOS via Del/F2? If you can see the POST or inside BIOS, do you see CPU, RAM, and drives listed?

  3. Find a buddy that has the same CPU socket and similar CPU version, switch the CPUs, this is ultimate test of CPU and mobo. If your CPU runs in his mobo, your mobo is likely dead, if it doesn't your CPU is. Do similar thing for RAM.

  4. Any symptoms before id died?

  5. Have you googled the blinking lights meaning?

Social dynamics with family is immensely more difficult for me knowing what we know. What do you think?

@polishknight a hyperbole of my original affirmations :) it's raw masculinity, no apology. You made a great point about the sensitivity aspect. Reminds me of chivalry from the medieval knights of Bushido from the samurai. The way it's all been affected.

@LeashedDoggie I'm in beginning today. I know quite a bit about Aristotle, specifically eudaimonia, areté, and phronêsis from studying the material among other cultures that also employ his four cardinal virtues. This is a good summary of Aristotle's Philosophy.

I don't know much about Plato other than common conceptions and lore though and hope that's okay that I start with The Republic right now. I will follow the instructions on this page and am looking forward to this greatly.

If you're well ahead of both, I'll catch up ASAP.

Aristotle’s Philosophy: Eudaimonia and Virtue Ethics
Aristotle’s ethical investigations remain one of the most well-known aspects of his philosophy; he looks at the virtues and how to apply them to living a flourishing life. | TheCollector

@TheSingularity Thanks for sharing. I've heard of this before and think I should do this as well first thing in the morning. For now, my primary affirmation is "This is the start of a new day, a entry in my life, and I will make something good with it. Here are my goals for the day." I then look outside and marvel at my backyard garden in the morning sun. (appreciation)

A few quibbles such as regarding women attracted to our "authentic selves" in that, sadly, people in general but particularly women in the dating context are in lizard brain mode. It's a challenge, but we have to balance what is our "authentic selves" that we share with only our trusted friends and perhaps even only a portion each sort of like a state secret or the Coca Cola recipe. Due to the current legal and social situation, we may never be able to share our full "authentic selves" to women much less "effortlessly" attract them. We can, perhaps, repackage or market our assets accordingly. I'd use this instead:

"I understand my unique strengths and project that value to women through my behaviors. My relationships with women will be profitable to me and my authentic self isn't something I need them to appreciate, but something they have to EARN."

We crave women who appreciate us for our "authentic self" but in reality, we as men GIVE THAT AWAY to them almost like a woman who sluts around with multiple CHADs in the hopes of getting commitment. If we treat our authentic selves as something they need to earn from us, rather than something we hope for them to accept us, that puts the ball back in our court.

Note that our strengths are a part of our "authentic selves" and sometimes our authentic selves that aren't necessarily strengths will come out, but we don't make an intent to share them. Today, I was enjoying a meal with my family outdoors when a smoker lit up (against policy) next to us and I got super annoyed and said I wanted to leave. I'd thought my wife might tell me off for being so prissy about it, but she fully supported me and said it was wrong for smokers to do so at McD's where families eat. She backed me up on this authentic vulnerability I have. There's a reason women say "Self confident BUT sensitive". We share the self-confidence first. The "sensitive" part is going to creep out eventually so don't worry about it. Authenticity is like farting: I don't need to push one out. We'll eventually pop one out whether we want to or not.
