The motivational speaker Jim Rohn (nope, not one of The Juice) said you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Obviously in this dystopian screen laden social media hell world it's different to an extent, but it's still a good thought exercise.
Think about the five people you spend the most time with, besides co-workers and family. Are they terminally online losers crying about the big nose tribe and/or how "even 2/10 women with no teeth and cushing's disease will only go for 10/10 chads"?...
... Or are they successful?
Successful financially, successful in business, health, family, relationships, spinning plates, making music, anything?
Surrounding yourself with the latter will raise you up, even if you are the former (which no offense, but I'm sure some of you are). This doesn't mean cutting your friends out of your life, it means adding people in, raise that average.
This is just something I've been thinking about recently.
