@adam-l

So are we talking solely political power?

As I take it, that's what Betzig looks at. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm still not sure if one could say 'pursuit of all power in general is for the purpose of acquiring sex'.

I have no doubt it's part of it, especially political power.

There is very specific research linking (external) power and sex. You might want to check Laura Betzig's book "Despotism and differential reproduction".

So are you saying if the elite re-focused on just getting pussy, they would stop being degenerate?

No, that's not how it works. "Runaway evolution" is how new traits evolve (I recommend G. Miller's The Mating Mind), and "Social runaway" (described in my book) is how evolved traits lead to, ...well, "degenerate" situations becoming successful.

Due to your work you are probably focused on the personal viewpoint, which doesn't exactly map onto social processes.

I don't know. It all sounds very generalized.

What I'm hearing is a supposition which proposes that whatever your drive is, if you're happy getting sex out of it you'll remain normal.

It all sounds very reductionist.

This is the point where you'd have to provide more of an evidence base. Case studies on the elite, and be able to draw a correlation between seeking power not for sex and becoming degenerate.

At the moment it just sounds like...theory.

The question is right. The answer was like;

'no, no...because I have creative value'.

So one rule for others, another for him.

I don't entirely agree.

I agree that sex is important, and some guys definitely seek power because it wins women.

But to say 'men are drawn to power because it is an aphrodisiac for women' implies that is the one general cause for seeking power.

You're alternative is seeking for power which is 'abnormal'.

So the logic you're presenting is to 'to be normal, seek power so it wins the resource of sex'.

I disagree this is the 'normal' reason to pursue power.

I seek elements of power in my work. I have huge influence and power with clients. Decisions they make on my suggestion can make it break their lives.

I have power to make my own decisions which could effect their lives significantly.

I aspire to move further up in the organisation to have more power over staff, bring things into our program that I want and my ultimate aspiration is to say 'I have power to pretty much run things top down in the way I see fit and totally offer a vision of program that will change people's future'.

I do NOT seek that for sex. Am I aware it builds attraction for some women? Yes, but it isn't the goal, or aim.

I want that power, because I literally want people to utterly and absolutely thrive and have the chances I had.

I also love the personal growth my work gives me, and want more power so I continue to grow.

I also want the intellectual and creative outlet of creating my own programs.

What I'm getting at is there can be many motivations and end results from having power other than sex, which are very normal.

We often get told we do everything for our dick

I know what you mean, and I've had women actually be surprised that I am genuinely in pursuit of power for reasons other than fucking.

It's not the only normal causation for seeking power.

Hitler was nowhere near normal. Exterminating Jews was his "thing".

What I'm getting at is that for a normal guy, getting sex is necessary, and a prerequisite to enjoying the "shit load" of stuff life has to offer.

Men are drawn to power because power is an aphrodisiac for women. For some men, power gets detached, aquires a life of its own, and devours the man himself. That is the "ab-normal" I'm hinting at. The power-lust of the "elites". It has brought such an imbalance in the world, it doesn't make sense anymore.

However, I wouldn't say 'if you're near normal, sex is the only resource'.

If you're anywhere near normal, you realise there are shit loads of other resources.

@adam-l ok, now I see your point.

Yes, it's one of the saddest things in the world to see a girl's private msg on social media and see a plethora of guys going ga ga over the idea of sex or an attractive girl.

I want to reach out and slap those guys
