Are you tired of people thinking that the solution is Starship Troopers? This tribe is dedicated to anyone who hasn't gone completely deranged.
From the moral perspective, old.men did their duty, they (were forced to) take responsibility and sustain the cost of the possibility to be sent to war.
Morality is based on intentions, not outcome.
@adam-l It's okay to let old men vote though so I don't think it's the women not going to war that's a problem. The bigger problem is that women are not evolved to deal with the public sphere.
Oops... Yeah, I don't follow the discussions these days.
Of course, it is completely ridiculus that women are being given a vote without the obligation to go to war if needed. And because they will never go to war, they should never be allowed to vote.
@adam-l Are you missing the whole political threads about Starship Troopers the book these days? They're not talking about the movie version. They actually think the idea of being able to vote only if you serve is a good idea.
LoooL!!! :)
Do they really?
It's very strange, because it's a very special movie. It's an art movie, trolling the far-right ideas, and Verhoeven said he only managed to pull it through because the financers (Sony? I think) were into structural reforms or something, and they didn't get a whiff of what was going on until it was out.
I saw it only recently for the first time, and I laughed my ass out.
@adam-l Is there an evolutionary explanation for why so many of the people here love Starship Troopers?
Seriously, give Starship Troopers a rest. It's turning into a cult in here.
