Former Marxist devoted life to exposing the subversion of the Church.

As the Soviet Union communists penetrated major institutions in the United States, including the Church, some of their espionage activities started coming to the surface. Many people are already familiar with the notorious case of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg and their stealing of the atomic bomb secrets for the Soviets.

But that was specific government infiltration to get at military information to neutralize the United States' atomic advantage. What was not as widely known was the deep penetration into other aspects of American life — specifically religion.

In sworn testimony before the U.S. Congress in 1953, former communist (turned Catholic revert) Bella Dodd broadly outlined the Soviet plan for working with Catholics:

At different times in the history of the Communist Party, they emphasized the fact that it was possible for you to be religious and, at the same time, communist. But those were the periods in which they were trying to win over larger numbers of, let's say, Catholic trade-unionists, Catholic workers, and so forth and so on. Those were the periods which were called the periods of extending the hand of communism to the people in the religious groups. What you did was to say substantially this: 'These men have a blind spot. They believe in God, but we communists know that there is no God. But in order to get them to work with us, we will work with them on a minimum program.' As a matter of fact, even when you were in the Communist Party, the Communist Party from time to time established committees like the — there was a committee on Catholics for Human Rights, which consisted of communists who had been Catholics, whose purpose it was to work with mass organizations which had a large number of Catholics.

It would be incorrect to think of Soviet communist infiltration into the world of Catholicism as some cloak-and-dagger effort with thousands of secret agents wandering the halls of seminaries with decoder rings and midnight liaisons, for example. The much larger, by far and away, effort was made by simply targeting certain individuals as well as leaders of various groups who could be persuaded that at least in many areas, Catholics and communists have common goals they could work on together (for the betterment of mankind, you know).

In short, they tricked them, finding a "soft spot" or "blind spot" they could capitalize on down the road. And they did. They hunted out what we could term "sympathizers." Dodd and other former communists all came forward in those early years of the 1950s and testified the same thing — that it was not really secret communists planted all over religious and other institutions, but associations made where the commies could convince their targets they could, and should, work together.

The strategy to enlist sympathizers paid off handsomely. Why take the chance of having spies uncovered in colleges and media and churches when "locals" could do your dirty work for you? As we see looking around now, in the Church specifically, it worked like a charm. There may be here or there, in key roles in the Church, truly committed communists, but that's nowhere near as effective as having hundreds if not thousands of brainwashed useful idiots spouting your "social justice" vocabulary for you.

Gavin Newsom and Michael Bloomberg will eliminate America's energy independence.

There are many avenues to undermining and destroying the republic and, by extension, severely damaging the Church, whose natural law teachings are the republic's foundations. You can, of course, flood nearly 10 million illegals into the country, a number whose total now exceeds the population of 41 states. From the communist Democrats' point of view — check!

You can also do everything you can think to weaken the strongest economy in world history, an economy that has been built on energy mainly derived from fossil fuels — oil and coal to be specific. A step-by-step process would first include making oil and coal the "bad guy" needing to be done away with. The reason? They are destroying the climate and bringing about apocalyptic changes in the environment.

This mantra has been screamed at the top of their lungs for 40 years now, through the media and universities, and it is now accepted by the public as a fact. But it's not true. Nonetheless, the communist propaganda is relentless.

Just a couple months ago, former New York City mayor and billionaire-at-large Michael Bloomberg announced he is donating another $500 million to, in his words, "finish the job on coal." This follows on approximately $500 million he's already directed into the effort.

It's an 'America last,' nation-destroying agenda.

Next week is the big press conference in Baltimore during the bishops' annual meeting there, blowing the lid off the phony science surrounding environmental alarmism and its economy-devastating consequences.

It's hosted by the Deposit of Faith Coalition, and it's built on a strategy of going around the media censorship of the bishops, the religious Left and the major Marxist media outlets and going straight to the burgeoning politically conservative media with expert information.

And for Catholics, the concern is not just the false claims being made, deceitful as they are, but also that the U.S. bishops are in total lockstep with this nation-destroying Marxist agenda lying to you, pushing it from the pulpits in parishes and profiting by collecting money to fight so-called man-made environmental damage.

Because Catholics, even good ones, have been and remain largely ignorant of the political process. And Catholic media, in every tribe, just don't report any of this, at least in any substantive way. The ground war in the world of politics has largely been ceded to men and women of goodwill who are not Catholic, at least for the most part.

Some folks might say, "Hey, Church Militant, why are you allying with Protestants in this fight? Easy answer, because they at least see and understand the importance of not giving up any more ground in the battle for culture and politics. Catholics don't, at least for the most part. Obviously, many Catholics who support Church Militant get it. But outside of a few pockets here or there, like us, Catholics have been AWOL in this war.

Of course, there are theological differences, duh. But there are greater theological differences with a majority of the hierarchy than there could ever be with these men of goodwill. At least they believe in objective truth, even if the implications of all that need to be spelled out more clearly.

Everywhere we go, even before Francis, Protestants we encounter ask us why the Church is so liberal. And frankly, who could blame them for drawing that conclusion? What they don't understand — and have no way to understand it unless it's explained to them by faithful Catholics — is that the leaders who are off the rails do not comprise the Church.

Unlike protestant congregations that do rise and fall on their individual pastors, Christ is the supreme pastor of the Catholic Church, and it cannot fall. Like Good Friday, it can go through very dark times, but 2,000 years later, we're still here. And here's the point: We always will be. There are Judases, but the Faith itself remains.

The Luciferian alliance of big government, mainstream media and Silicon Valley.

I heard on the internet, and you won't hear it on major Marxist media outlets (not reported or even discussed), that:

• More than 9 million children in America face hunger with no food — Biden hasn't asked for an aid package for them
• Thirty-four thousand veterans in America are homeless — Biden hasn't asked for an aid package for them
• Eight million Americans are working two jobs to afford inflation — Biden hasn't asked for an aid package for them
• The U.S. southern border is being overrun, and Border Patrol can't keep up with record numbers — Biden hasn't asked for an aid package for them
• Sixty-one percent of Americans can't afford to buy a house to raise a family — Biden hasn't asked for an aid package for them.
• The U.S. tax system is nothing but a giant bank for everyone except Americans. How much longer can we sustain this?

Those straightforward and truthful observations are coming from Twitter account Travis, who happens to be about 50 miles up the road from us here at Church Militant. He's a good dude.

Major media, Giant Tech and Big Social Media can't let those kinds of discussions break out, because they evolve into further more-pressing questions, which, in the end, lead to the unraveling of the carefully constructed Marxist narrative, a narrative whose sole purpose is to keep people dumb so they can be controlled.

Marxism is from Hell because its single starting point, its foundational principle, is denying the inherent God-given dignity of every human being. Marxism is atheistic by its very nature. There's no escaping that. And since its author is the Devil, we know, as Our Blessed Lord told us, "There is no truth in him"; He was [a liar and] a murderer from the beginning."

America is fracturing under immorality and corruption.

America is breaking apart. In some respects, it already has.

People are fleeing blue states at an increasing rate and taking up residence in red states. That often means leaving family, jobs and comfort behind. They don't want their children being raised in a tyrannical environment where immorality and corruption are exalted as goods, so, as has happened throughout human history, they flee.

The entire American experience, in fact, is predicated on that very reality — from the War of Independence to the waves of mostly Catholic immigrants a century or so later, normal average people wanting to be left alone to live their lives and raise their families in decency and honesty, not threatened with tyranny and all its associated limits on freedom (its phony justice system, prison and even executions).

Pushed far enough and inspired by protecting those they love, people start shooting at some point. That's why the findings of not one but two recent public surveys are so telling, that near majorities, 43% and 46%, believe there will be a civil war in the United States within the next 10 years.

Personally, given the trajectory, I don't believe it will be that long — again, if affairs continue at this pace. But that's just my personal opinion. People will only take so much for so long, especially when their children are in harm's way. But before the blood potentially flows, other avenues must be pursued. Whether they will be fruitful remains to be seen, and it is the proverbial case of crossing that bridge when we come to it.

Julian Assange, Oliver Stone and Jordan Peterson speak up.

So just how bad has censorship and "cancel culture" gotten? Well, imagine a scene where a gang from all over the ideological spectrum comes together to say it's got to end. People as divergent as Oliver Stone, Jordan Peterson, Julian Assange, Richard Dawkins, John Cleese and Tim Robbins are all joining arms and calling for it to stop.

Well, no need to imagine, because that's exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago. Those notables and another 130 high-powered leaders joined in signing the Westminster Declaration, a document calling for an end to the censorship madness because of its threat to democracy.

And at whom is the declaration aimed? Joe Biden, specifically, for his largely successful attempts to enlist Facebook and all the rest of them in censoring the legal free-speech opinions of ordinary Americans about hot-button issues of the day. To their credit, even celebrated liberals among them are saying enough is enough — so much so that they put their signatures on the document.

And when you get as wide a variance as Jordan Peterson and Tim Robbins, each in agreement that there's a big problem, then there's a big problem. Shouldn't be too long now before they are being censored, refused movie roles, canceled from college speaking engagements and so forth. As two of the signatories aptly dubbed this the "censorship industrial complex," it has reached unbelievable heights. And, of course, it's all brought to you by the communist Democrats.

US cybersecurity agency fighting for global censorship.

It's been dubbed the "censorship industrial complex" — referring to the cooperation between Biden's government Giant Tech like Google and social media giants like Facebook to shut down any opposition to their worldview.

How does it work? It started off with the effort to protect against foreign enemies, both terrorists as well as their interference in American domestic policies and campaigns. Federal agencies such as the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, formed specifically to fight against those threats, are more and more being directed not toward foreign enemies but toward private Americans. And it's gone into high gear under the Biden administration, with relentless assaults against freedom, so much so that in an effort to sidestep the Constitution's First Amendment protections against government trampling those rights, Biden and his cronies simply went to Giant Tech and Big Social Media and asked them to do their dirty work for them.

Giant Tech and Big Social Media happily complied.

So somewhat subtle (but not that subtle) methods of censorship and outright canceling are now employed through throttling, visibility filtering, the release of algorithms that manipulate search engine results, labeling and flagging. Giant Tech and Big Social Media (with Biden helping direct them — unofficially, of course) have set up a facade of "fact-checkers" and "experts in disinformation" who virtually all come from mainstream media outlets. You know, the fake news guys.

These are the same "experts" who insisted just before the past election that the Hunter Biden laptop story was "Russian disinformation," advising Giant Tech and Big Social Media, whom they work for, not to allow the story to be found and to block it, meaning not let the American people know about it.

It turns out, they are the "disinformation" gang, because the story is true. Of course, they knew it was true back then. They didn't want it influencing the vote, so they lied and manipulated the technology to keep you from knowing it.

Power in your hands.

Despite various court rulings in cases touching on government censoring free speech, the reality remains that private companies do it left, right and center. And private includes social media as well as Big Tech companies.

What many people don't stop and think about is that the First Amendment only protects against the government stifling your speech. It says nothing about companies doing so. And so companies do. Routinely.

They also simply refuse to do business with you if the censorship gang gets to them and accuses you of anything they don't like. That has happened to us here at Church Militant too many ways to count, from Amazon Smile crossing us off their "acceptable charities" list (even though Planned Parenthood is still on) to video hosting service Vimeo bouncing us a few years back, to our own long-time business insurance company dropping us because of our conservative output. Our former accounting agency did the same, as the list just goes on, from direct mail companies to billboard advertising to internet advertising — one by one, across the board.

The stifling of Church Militant has truly been something to behold. It's an enforcement of the woke brand, without it being done by the government.

But since corporate America, including social media giants, all see eye to eye with the Marxist swamp in D.C., they do the politicians' bidding because they are in perfect lockstep with them. In fact, this is actually more effective than the government trying to do it, because the companies are essentially bulletproof, proving the old adage that there's more than one way to skin a cat.

They can deny service and they don't have to tell you why. And that's just the way it is. If you don't like it, sue 'em. But after a few years as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars, don't be surprised if you lose anyway.

So political conservatives, including many orthodox Catholics, have been relegated to the land of "make it up as you go along." We've sort of been forced to. There are various topics and various words you simply cannot say out loud on major social media platforms or you'll get shut down, get a strike against you, canceled, whatever.

Climate change is more deadly than abortion?

One of the most disturbing appointments to the College of Cardinals Pope Francis has made, among many, is the elevation of Robert McElroy of San Diego. Among the many horrible, virtually un-Catholic positions the recent cardinal has enunciated is one that has to do with the preposterous position that climate change is so bad that it actually claims more lives around the world each year than abortion.

For the record, according to the Guttmacher Institute, there are 73 million abortions worldwide every year. So where Cdl. McElroy is getting his number that more than 73 million people die every year from changes in the weather is a little dumbfounding — likely because it's not true.

McElroy is notorious for skirting Church teaching in the area of sexual morality and has deemed it a worthy cause to promote "social justice" as more important than individual justice and charity.

Among his chief bothers is the constant change in the atmosphere that most normal people simply call "the weather." For the bad cardinal, changing weather must be stopped and prevented in the future at all costs.

He, like Pope Francis, goes on to ascribe these atmospheric changes not to the normal course of the world's changing environment, but specifically to man, especially America. Mean old bad nasty America.

He completely disregards hard scientific facts like increased volcanic activity on the ocean floor causing rising sea temps. For him, solar flares are nowhere near as much of a threat as driving your nonelectric vehicle is. But hey, don't confuse the cardinal with actual science. That's because the actual science simply explodes his world of substitute morality, where man and the earth are elevated over God, where the two greatest commandments are switched.

When that happens, the door is open to all sorts of shenanigans. And McElroy is one of the leading proponents of all this.

In truth, he and his kind hate the Church, and they hate America, at least as we have traditionally understood the nation, because, with all its many flaws, a free America at least gives the opportunity for the Faith to thrive. In a communist state, or one approaching it, the Faith is much more easily suffocated.

Climate Change, the Vatican and the Communist party.

Like a taste of some international intrigue and how the phony science engendering environmental alarmism is at the heart of it? OK, then sit back and follow the bouncing ball. We're going to bring together some seemingly unrelated points in this Vortex.

But the big picture is that China is a communist nation and wants control of the planet. Let's start there. Easy enough. Its major opposition, of course, is the United States, which must be weakened and neutralized. Again, easy enough. So let's look at how it is going about this, and for that, we will turn our attention first to Europe.

In order for China to gain entry to the halls of power in European capitals, it needs "access." This is where Italy comes in. For the past decade or so, China has poured thousands of Chinese nationals into the Italian nation, predominantly in a multitude of industries in northern Italy. That little tidbit came out at the beginning of the pandemic as people were asking why Italy was hit so hard by the virus.

China's two-pronged plan — global domination by influencing European politics and weakening America — is detailed quite extensively in a recent book entitled Red Contagion: How Italy Has Become China's Trojan Horse in the West. The author is Francesco Galietti, a highly respected and much sought-after business consultant who founded Policy Sonar, an outfit that tracks, among other things, massive movements of money around the globe through multiple hedge funds.

In his book, he details how China targeted Italy as the "soft underbelly" path into European politics, specifically because of the heavy involvement of the Vatican in Italian politics. For the Chinese, it would be the Vatican that would prove to be the access point to Italy — and from there, the rest of Europe.
