I’m watching “Titanic” for the third time this month. There are circumstances regarding my children that lead to so many viewings although I will say I do enjoy the flick myself.

Anyway, during my third viewing it is striking me how both Cal and Jack are pretty solid alpha-male prototypes in very different ways.

I would love to see some well-thought discussion on the topic comparing the pros and cons of each as well as a relative prognosis had the ship not sunk. Rewatch the movie if necessary, I’d like to have a real conversation.

To launch: I believe every woman wants a Jack, but any Jack that doesn’t die will either become a Cal, a simp, or abandon his promises and move onto another rose in the next garden.

@chadinthemaking69 what are some objective examples of them being “upset.” You aren’t just assuming they are upset simply because you are reading into their actions your own will for their intent, are you?

The fact that she is psychologically available to provide maternal comfort means she instinctually sees you as more vulnerable than she and therefore it follows that she cannot lean on you for her own stability and will never see you with the eyes necessary for a fulfilling husband/wife dynamic. Sexual or otherwise, but mostly and definitely sexually.
