it's his accolades, one of them being that he is one of the major influences of the United States founding fathers, that makes me believe he deserves to be more well known.
Seeing how things turned out (and I'm not even talking about the last ten years, I mean since the beginning, right after the writing of the Constitution) that doesn't really convince me of anything. It wasn't all bad, for sure, but it's a mixed bag, for sure. Especially our approach to crime and our beliefs as to how it begins, and how to reduce it in our society.
