Discussion about the 5th gen war

@WarnerBro If you aren't already familiar, take a look into Yanis Varoufakis' thesis of technofeudalism
He's very strongly on the left, but does put across some good ideas and debate. On this particular topic of technofeudalism I think he's bang on the mark.

These trends lead towards an IoT (Internet of Things) enabled lifestyle where neither the home nor the devices actually belong to the user — you will own nothing and will be happy with a LaaS (Life-as-a-Service) lifestyle.
IoT is one of those things that could be incredibly awesome - IF it was built on open protocols, open standards etc. in the same way the WWW is.
Of course, that's never going to happen and instead it'll just end up a dystopian clusterfuck and a massive missed opportunity.

You've already touched on what this is about - it's about power and control.
The internet is too powerful and too dangerous to be allowed to be kept the way it is for much longer.
And so they are taking steps to reign it in.

@First-light North east, on the line to Edinburgh as it were. I think this was between Peterborough and York.

Investigators are also working to interview many of the students who witnessed what happened to piece together how the school became the site of the 47th shooting that took place at a school in the United States so far this year – 24 of which were on college campuses and 23 on K-12 school grounds.
From the article I found on the school shooting you mentioned. What's the use in trying to differentiate political motives be it left, or right? I could bring one up, and then you could bring one up in retaliation, then me, then you... ad nauseam. Whatever causes children/teenagers/young adults to want to specifically shoot up their classmates is another topic and not one isolated to either 'side".
Charlie Kirk's assassination was a very personal act of violence, based on a warped reality that Charlie was some ontological evil that any action, no matter how drastic, was justified against him. That's what doesn't stand up to scrutiny. That he was some vicious fascist spreading hate and lies. You can disagree with the people holding Charlie's memory in high esteem if you want to, as ever there will be charlatans and chancers taking advantage of a situation. It's incumbent on right minded individuals to discern between the well meaning and the grifters.
I've no interest in having to answer for the chancers because I made a sympathetic post to Charlie, as I don't expect you to have to answer for every cackling demon that laughed at the assassination.
My question to you is, how many cases of violence perpetrated by individuals who believe they are attacking nazis or fascists have to take place before there is a problem? My answer is, one. One assassination in front of his family with those specific engravings on those bullets tells me the rhetoric has gone too far.

especially as the out-group increasingly appears to be emboldened to attack us.
This is the core part of what I call to attention. Numerous right wing ideologues are opportunistically pushing a "Violent Left " narrative and trying to hitch this to the Kirk Martyrdom wagon while the emotional iron is still hot.
BUT, it doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
There was another school shooting the same day as the Kirk shooting. Did any of those pushing this "Violent Left " narrative ever utter a peep about it? Did they identify that shooter's ideology to his act? Look that up and get back to me with your findings.

@Typo-MAGAshiv There’s a long and uncertain road ahead, pathed with charlatans, turncoats and grifters.
In the end though, we win.

dude, that's some pretty in your face propaganda to just willfully absorb uncritically
Sorry, what is?
I don’t particularly care for the details of whoever assassinated Charlie Kirk, in as much as it wouldn’t change my opinion on the magnitude of the atrocity.
Though, given you feel it’s important and proves some kind of point about ‘sides’ that you feel you’re making I’m going to assume you’ve seen details contrary to what I’ve seen.
I’m not ashamed to admit that my reaction to Charlie Kirk’s murder is of horror and anger because he is of my in-group. I will advocate for my in-group specifically so that members do not get assassinated by the out-group. It’s a matter of objective reality and self-preservation- especially as the out-group increasingly appears to be emboldened to attack us.
Suppose this was a planned hit intended to provoke a civil war between average Americans? Allowing oneself to get provoked into joining it would be a most consequential Blue Pill, would it not?
Unless you can substantiate this, it’s not worth much.
