@Bozza @Bozza Don't worry, I am not supporting Iran or totalitarianism or the hijab. I am just interested in the image. To me it says a lot about what people have come to associate with the west. Freedom is one thing but freedom does not necessarily come with vices.

The girl in the image has a very western brat look on her face, she is not proud, defiant and inspired so much as a teenager saying "screw you". Her hair is expensively styled and she has lipstick and a cigarette. Compare with say "Marianne" from France who is very revolutionary, more scantily dressed yet still exudes a very different and rather more inspiring attitude.

Now I know the background to the image is the mandatory hijab which is a totalitarian law, so now we have a bad girl who says "Screw you" to the establishment. But I am a little saddened to see that freedom and the ability to be a bad girl or at least an attitude filled teenager are conflated for a generation of women.

Marianne does not wear a hijab but she is actually much more inspiring I think. She is the female embodiment of revolutionary freedom, unmaking the establishment in the hope of re-making a better future.

I hope that this revolution does not come with a downgrade in the quality of Iranian women or Iranian men's standards. The mandatory hijab is not the guardian of virtue. That was the error in the establishment. The law is not virtue -as I am always saying to men here. The individual must have the freedom to choose virtue or virtue has no meaning. Totalitarian states remove virtue form the individual and place in in the state which always becomes corrupt. These are the things I constantly say here.

I am sadend that the west is considered a place of sexual license and license to have small vices not really a place of freedom. In our universities freedom of thought is being eroded while the freedom to do have small vices is lionised. These are the wrong freedoms to focus on!

Freedom is the most important part of our shared heritage. And while the English and Americans may have our historical differences, we are one and the same people. We fight for freedom. We fight for unity. We fight for peace. God bless the United Kingdom and God bless the United States of America.

As an Englishman, I call on my American compatriots: the freedom you hold was fought for through centuries of struggle, blood, and sacrifice - through the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights, and every hard-won battle for liberty. You did not earn it alone, and you must not keep it to yourselves. Take it to the world. Stand with those who risk everything for the chance to live free. Let the torch of liberty shine beyond your borders, as a reminder that freedom is not a gift, but a duty we owe to all humankind.

@Bozza I just read that they’ve opened fire on the civilians. Death toll of 2000 in one day.

Fuck me.

@First-light

You can hold TRP views on attraction, behavior, and personal standards without losing sight of a core western value: freedom.

Disagreeing with how some Western women live does not mean endorsing tyranny, theocracy, or state violence. The issue in Iran isn’t women wanting Western vices, it’s a regime that beats, cages, and kills its own people for refusing submission to Islamism. That’s not morality, it's tyranny.

Under TRP, a man is free to choose. He’s free to reject women with traits he finds degenerate. But that freedom only exists when the state does not decide for him, or for her, under threat of imprisonment or death.

Men overthrow tyrannies, yes. They always have. But they do it so that their people can live by merit, character, and consequence. Not by compulsory obedience enforced by batons, bullets and death. A society where women are forced into “virtue” at gunpoint produces neither strong men nor moral women, only fear and resentment.

In the West, we can criticize excess, decadence, and decline because we are free to do so. That freedom is exactly what Iranians are fighting for.

May the 20th century with its racist discrimination by skin colour and religion, its horrors beyond counting, and the immense sacrifices our forebears made to prevent such suffering stand as testament that freedom for all mankind is worth fighting for.

They bled and died so that no man would be ruled by birth, creed, or obedience to a tyrant. We dishonour that sacrifice if we shrug when new regimes revive the same old evils under different banners.

Freedom is not negotiable. We will not stand still until that aim is achieved. Freedom for all mankind.

@Bozza So, judging by the poster, Iranian women want to be free to adopt the vices of western women. Aside from a few attention seeking protests, their men will have to do the heavy lifting of overthrowing a regime. I do hope the men then have the sense to maintain no interest in women with vices.

Welcome to the 5th Gen Warfare Tribe.

Given that we are experiencing rapid changes in our culture, it made sense to have a place to track the populist movements / battles as they occur, and not necessarily under the banner of politics.

For instance, Gamergate, Occupy Wallstreet, Maga Movement, and now the Wallstreet bets have all been "battles" with something in common: They cross political lines and share a common, populist root.

Here we can talk about the greater culture war and discuss the big picture for players and actions.
