Thoughts on three lunch meat sandwiches/day on white bread?

@TiberiusBravo87 This reads as being mostly good developments for you. Your family probably got into the habit of giving kids tonic water back when it had more quinine back in the 1800's, as it's considered an anti-malarial.

Well this is an odd report. I have dropped off on impulsive behavior (anger outbursts etc.) and I have patched up bad blood with another family member I was having problems with, even cut down on overall calorie intake.

I also picked up bad habits. I am back to drinking the equivalent of 2 beers worth of alcohol each week for the past month. Watching that closely so it doesn't spiral, but the issues that caused me to drink in the past are long buried and I don't have "urges". I will admit a gin and tonic is nice since the quinine helps with restless legs syndrome which I get while trying to sleep once in a while. Funny thing, they are doing studies how tonic water can fight coronavirus but since I was a child my family gave tonic water to kids having bad flu and the cousins who did that always got better a few days earlier.

I am also sleeping in more. Unsure if it's related to weather or the winter season, we did have a cold snap lately. It's eating into the time I use for other activities.

Finally bad food has settled into the house. We got lots of holiday foods, german cookies and the such floating around. Like legit white people food, stuff that is hard to resist. I have been counting calories but it sucks when one tasty german chocolate waffle-thingy with crunchy bits used up the portion that could've been a nice chunk of chicken in my day.

My three things to ditch were Alcohol, Junk Food and Cigarettes. My progress so far:

I've ditched cigarettes for disposable e-cigs. I'm using these to taper off nicotine. I'm cigarette free for a couple of weeks now.

Junk food, I have started at the gym so I've managed to use that as a catalyst for improving my eating. I'm tracking calories on My Fitness Pal, have removed crisps, sweets and made healthier adjustments. I've used my income saved from the other vices to buy protein powder, protein bars/cookies for snacks. I'm eating more greens, drinking more water. My current goal is to lose weight. I haven't reduced from my BMR too much, as I'm seeing how it goes with the weight lifting. I'm currently 200 under my BMR, so sitting at 1800 calories a day.

Alcohol, I've stopped completely. I did have a slip up around Christmas and New Year. I got back on the wagon, replacing it with water, sometimes calorie free fizzy juice, BCAA drinks. The initial first few days were terrible and I was working. Nausea, irritability, perhaps a minor form of Delerium Tremens. Now, I feel I have more energy and everyday I feel better.

I'm going to continue to be accountable. My health is important. I want to live a healthy, long life.

It's good to read that you're making improvements. Keep it up, I know you'll achieve your goal.

@slutmagazine Thanks, I thought of it because I remember always thinking people were just saying things when they complimented me. But I realized that that’s why I have insecurities lol

A great thing you can do for yourself is take a compliment literally and assume it’s genuine and meant at its extreme.

@slutmagazine weird, I never changed my avatar on here. It’s just a picture of a pill for me (default avatar, same as yours)

Reads like you've confused @Firmware_pimp into this somehow.
