Most guys would consider politics to be either boring, out of their reach, or they just feel plain powerless to do anything or even give a fuck.

Quite frankly, if I was a narcissitic psychopath, I would do my best to discourage good, decent, competent people from entering the political field or even paying attention to what's happening and being decided there. You don't want them to hamper your work with their annoying ethics and bright ideas.
