The title is NoFap but this tribe is dedicated to everyone who wants to abstain from sexual encounters for a variety of reasons. Personally, I'm in the process of killing my porn addiction. For those not familiar with NoFap, it's done for many reasons, some people feel like masturbation has taken over their lives, others just do it for religion/spiritual purposes. Anyways you are all welcome here, remember: no shaming, addictions already cause shame as it is.

Why You Might Keep Watching Porn Even When You Don’t Want To
Not everyone who watches porn is or will become “addicted,” but porn addiction is real as evidenced by research from "respected" institutions.
Many people in our society want to quit their porn habit because of personal, relational, or ethical reasons, but they can’t seem to stop going back to it.
Can you relate? Do you commit yourself to quitting but find yourself going back to porn?
You could be dealing with an obsession, compulsion, or in some more serious cases, an addiction to porn.
Not everyone who watches porn is or will become “addicted,” but porn addiction is real as evidenced by decades of research from respected institutions.
So let’s talk about pornography addiction.

Prn Addction Recovery Coach, Alana Parekh, Joins Jesse! (Teaser)
Watch FULL episode HERE: youtu.be/pueq1xnmeoo
On this week's episode of TheFallenState TV, host Jesse Lee Peterson is joined by Alana Parekh, a prn addction recovery coach and the host of the @AAHANA podcast. In the interview, Alana discusses how her parents' arranged marriage and traditional Indian background paradoxically led her to have a much different upbringing—one where she was encouraged to date (and even sleep) around before marriage. She discusses how she became addicted to watching prnography from a very young age, and how common it was among her friends to be exposed to this type of content as early as age 7. Ultimately, she talks about overcoming her addction as well as so much of the programming & indoctrination she received in college, both socially and academically. You don't want to miss this exchange on such a pervasive epidemic, and the real root cause of this surprisingly common add*ction!

How To Quit Porn For Good And Improve Your Life - Caveman Circus
Porn Addiction is Being Severely Underestimated. How do I know this?
Because most people believe that in order to get rid of this addiction, all they have to do is keep trying over and over again, until eventually things will just ‘click’ and their brains will finally become rebooted.
Very few are treating this as a true addiction. They just see it as a habit they want to break.
This is evidenced by the stubbornness of many, relying purely on willpower for months, only to constantly reset their counters and beat themselves up for not making any progress.
Most people don’t realize how incredibly difficult it is to completely remove artificial stimulation (of any kind) for the rest of their lives. We’re talking about years and years of brain conditioning here.
We’re dealing with some powerful stuff here, but it is not treated seriously enough, probably because it’s widely accepted by society and is not a substance like heroine or cocaine.
I cringe when people relapse, reset their counters, and proclaim “This is it, I’ve had enough, I’m going to do it this time”…
Stop kidding yourself.
This is an addiction that has to be attacked from many different angles. You need a full arsenal of tools and strategies, as well as a proper mindset.
Willpower alone won’t do shit.
Abstinence is NOT Recovery
What people usually try to do is go as many days clean as they can.
That’s all they do.
That’s all their goal.
They achieve a certain amount of days, then for whatever reason they relapse, so they start over and repeat.
That is abstaining. That is not recovering.

Russian Orthodox priest celebrates end of pornhub in Russia
The following is from a sermon by Russian Orthodox Priest Andrey T. Kachev.
Transcript:
We lived among the Satanic chimera, you didn’t know that? Have you noticed the air has become cleaner to breathe…
(Alla) Pugacheva [aged pop star] has left Russia forever – Lord, I’ve waited for this! Pornhub is closed to Russian users – Western civilization if turned off to us.
Pornhub is closed – Jesus, how hard did we need to pray before for it to be closed earlier! We can’t go to Eurovision – I’ve prayed that we’re never allowed there ever again!

I’ve noticed on the internet that people literally want to change their lives overnight. That’s not the way things work.
It’s like being able to bench 100lbs and expecting to bench 1000lbs the next day. It takes time.
Don’t have an all or nothing mentality.
A few years ago I started meditating. I told myself, “I’m going to meditate 30 minutes a day!”
For the next six months I’d only hit my goal maybe 5 times a month, and I’d keep beating myself up.
And then I decided to start small.

Make It Stupid Easy, But Do It Every Day - Caveman Circus
After a decade of setting goals every year and never achieving them, here’s what finally clicked:
High performers are successful as a result of consistent action, not intense effort.
This single realization led me to a framework for building habits that has changed my life.
Working from home last year made me realize that at 27, I had no good habits and zero self-discipline.
I was going to bed after 3am and sleeping past noon.
I wasn’t working out consistently.
I was browsing Reddit and watching Netflix for up to 10 hours a day.
I wasn’t doing any of the work needed to build my business…
I hated myself. The more promises I broke, the more worthless I felt, and the louder the voice in my head became:
Why can’t I fix this?
Why am I so weak?
This is how my dreams die.
My life was a train wreck in slow motion. I even contemplated suicide.
Back in November, disgusted with myself, scared, and desperate, I remembered something I’d seen on Reddit. Someone asked Terry Crews how to start going to the gym when you hate it.
At the time, his answer didn’t make any sense to me.
“Treat it like a spa. Go there but don’t make yourself work out unless you feel like it. If you don’t want to work out, just sit there for 30 minutes. But go every day.”
For some reason, on a dark day for me a few months ago, it finally clicked.
High performers are successful as a result of consistent action, not intense effort.

Powerlessness is not Helplessness | IntegrityRestored.com
John came into treatment for pornography addiction feeling very discouraged. He had struggled with it for years. Because of the deep shame he felt, John tried to kick the addiction on his own but with no luck. He was feeling completely helpless. In order for John to succeed in recovery, he needed to switch from feeling helpless to feeling powerless. While these words may seem synonymous, they are completely different.
When a person feels helpless, he has little hope for a better future. He feels as if he’s stuck in his current situation forever. There is no help out there for him. It’s not hard to see how someone in this mindset could easily give up. This is where John was. He didn’t believe he could overcome his addiction. He even began to believe he would never be able to live without porn.
A person who feels powerless can have great hope for the future. This is because, while he realizes he doesn’t have the tools to fight this battle on his own, there are others who can help him win the battle. He is aware that there are many valuable resources available to him, and he uses them. Addiction can be viewed as an army that the addict must defeat. However, as a lone soldier, he cannot defeat that army on his own. He is powerless. However, when he brings in his own army (therapist, support group, sponsor, etc.), he has the power to defeat that army. He is not helpless.
