Whoever said it, and how, I agree with that sentiment.
As for other people, pick carefully who you actually talk to, and share your thoughts and ideas with. You only need a handful of people to be genuine and transparent with. Everyone and everything else is just a game to be played.
The issue is with your own choice of focus, not with the world and the people in your periphery.
