@Typo-MAGAshiv The case of Islam is understandably hard to address. From my purely catholic POV; there have been instances when Islam has been open to the nurture of ideas and diplomacy; I mean, his warlike path aside, Saladin back in the Crusades was open to dialogue and trade with Christians, under certain circumstances that is.

My advice would be to keep looking for ways to barter and dialogue with members of Islam; Shii'te muslims are far less radical than Sunni muslisms, who represent the bulk of ISIS for example; keep looking for bridges, don't just burn them all down.

@First-light you and @FrancoAP are right, when both sides of an issue are civilized.

Islam is most emphatically not civilized, and it's adherents view you two's high-falutin' "discussion to reach understanding" as a weakness to exploit.

They deserve only ridicule and mockery.

@First-light I agree. People should be detached, unemotional, and stoic about stuff. I mean, understandably this audience is primarly white male Americans, so people are very nationalistic; and they will defend thoroughly what they perceive is right. Otherwise, I am from Colombia, and online citizens from that sphere have a different POV, purely from recent geopolitical events. I believe in discourse, and free flow of ideas to enhance understanding and learn more from each other; you won't achieve that by being contentious and disrespectful....

Merry Christmas everybody! I really appreciate the work put into this project. I have grown considerably as a man, and I am far more assertive today than yesterday.
