Every last bit of it.

As the U.S. economy begins to crash under the Biden plan (yes, plan, we have to say), it is the U.S. bishops who own this entire disaster.

Some premises here — first, spiritual:

• The Catholic religion is the only legitimate religion on the planet because it is the only one established by Christ Himself
• Jesus Christ is God, and no other religion has God as its founder. And for those who say Judaism was established by God, yes, that's true, but only as a preparation for the Church — the Catholic Church
• Judaism was always a religion of anticipated fulfillment, awaiting the Messiah. When He came, the Jewish leadership rejected Him and, as a result, Old Testament Judaism was wiped out by the Romans (as Our Blessed Lord said would happen, because you did not recognize the time of your fulfillment)

None of this means Jews suck and should be killed and all that. It simply means that, from a historical and spiritual perspective, as St. Paul says, the Church is the fulfillment of Judaism.

The very first Christians were Jews, practically every last one of them. Catholicism, the first and only legitimate Christian faith, is simply a continuation of Judaism, raised to its fullness.

Because of all this, the Catholic Church, with its divine origin, is the only religion on the face of the earth that has the power to fight evil, to contest directly with Satan and Hell. That again is why the Incarnate Eternal Logos says of His Church "the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

It's up to you.

The nation is descending into darkness at a much faster pace than most people understand. Still, there is a sense — national intuition, if you will — that things are not just not good but, actually, pretty bad.

According to an NBC News poll last week, of Americans who think the country is in serious trouble, a majority of those think the United States is at the start of a long-term decline. When you boil down the math, it's a hefty portion who now believe America's best days are behind it.

In short, we are on life support, and our death warrant has been signed — the end of an empire. Of course, these are just people's opinions. On the other hand, these are a lot of people's opinions (just about half).

So these findings, coupled with mountains of anecdotal evidence, raise the question, What, then, of the future (especially for those who are young)? And by "young," we don't mean infants or juveniles. We mean those 18–30-year-olds upon whom these realities will disproportionately fall.

What we are witnessing is not very different from the collapse of the Roman Empire. For Romans, like Americans, it must have seemed that the entire world revolved around Rome, and, for quite a while, it did.
