I moved to Uganda 2.5 years ago and am super happy I did. I think if I moved to SA I'd go back to Colombia (I was in Santa Marta and Barranquilla for the Carnival). I really liked it there as it has many of the same things I like about Uganda. Weather, people, food, nightlife etc. I think making a 2nd home like we are doing will become more common moving forward. With the weird things gov is doing now is just good to have an escape plan.
Good to read it's going well for you. When you get a chance, share a more expansive post on your experiences and strategies, both good and bad, for those who might also be interested in doing the same.

@carnold03 thanks man, I'm self-employed. Traveling the world looks like an option now. Probably not staying half a year but enough.
Thoughts on Colombia?
I want to live there half a year at a time, Spanish is i'm hispanic. On track to receive a monthly retainer from my job, and from what I've seen, you only need >2k a month.
Bad bitches steak and fries mountains
If anyone is on the same path lmk
If your employer is sending you to Colombia, then make the most of it when you can, while you can. If you've got thoughts to be permanently in Latin-America, try and use the time to reconnect with any kin who already live there to get their thoughts before you make any permanent decisions. Beyond that, good luck to you.

@Dr_Cockasaurus explains jerking the turkey, biting a burger, nicotine, video games, social media. Life gets dull without it but that's just me succumbing to my instant pleasures. Fuck it I'm gonna shave my head and move to a monastery.

@Blingo123 She's spoiled for choice. She had her fun then dipped. Don't look at your failures so harshly, you smashed. Mission accomplished. after that last paragraph, you should know she's not ltr material.
You'll get over your oneitis once you understand female nature. That's what happened to me, after 1 year of being stuck in a oneitis chokehold. 1-month process returning to real life.
