@throwaway_old_guy Alana's definition is quite cheeky in that it applies to people who do not actually know about or self-identify as "incels" — it is a self-propagating definition, it is accepted without question. Men did not invent this word to describe their situations and are now using it as an identity.

The guys over at the "incel" networks, the actual "incels", define the term as someone who cannot get sex and then go on to analyze the world and historical power dynamics through "involutary celibacy". Then, they expand this into an intersectionality by adding "-cel" to their insecurities. The word "involuntary" implies a sense of bitterness and entitlement.

"Incel" is not an ideology, it behaves and sounds like a Critical Theory complete with it's own Intersectionality. It should be called "Incel Theory".

Genius if intended that way.

All I'm trying to say is, we should define "incel" as people who use the word to create world views, like the Frankfurt School critical theories do. Because it's what they do in practice. Other male communities don't use this word for themselves.

To outsiders the red pill is "incel".
