Never say you are 'spiritual' but not 'religious.'

There has been a horribly thought out — if you could even call it thinking — maxim floating around the culture for a couple of decades now. It's the pathetic statement, "I'm spiritual, not religious."

The viewpoint is so far beyond stupid it's hard to know where to even begin deconstructing those four words. The root of the problem is ignorance — some of it willful, some of the invincible kind. In the heavily estrogen-saturated culture in which we live, where everything is reduced to emotion, the term "spiritual" has had all its meaning drained from it.

It is so heavily colored by the feminine that it refers to nothing more than feelings. As in "how do you feel?" "follow your feelings," and so forth. What is the heart of the spiritual is completely unknown or ignored.

The spiritual is where the intellect and the will reside. Feelings have very little to do with intellect. Likewise, the will, while certainly influenced by emotions and feelings, is meant to be guided by the intellect.

The spiritual is incorrectly understood to apply to your feelings and nothing more. However, the duty of the spiritual is to participate in religion, the worship of God.

But in this day and age, since the understanding of the spiritual is corrupted, so too is the duty of religion.

The faith weaves into the culture! (Remember, the root word of culture is "cult" — how this all weaves together is one of the major themes we hammer on here at CM, the relevance of the Faith.)

World religions converging in Chicago.

Many of the world's religions will be gathering in the coming days to meet and discuss, more or less, the evils of the world and what can be done. Of course, which religion you belong to could certainly influence your view of what is evil and what is not.

But laying that aside for the moment, there is certainly nothing wrong with religions cooperating with each other to address hunger and disease and so forth — as long as nothing objectively immoral is employed in that work.

However, while compromise for a greater end is OK for natural issues, when it comes to the supernatural, there can be no compromise by Catholics.

For example, Catholic and Protestant Americans can certainly work together to fight abortion, but they cannot work together to make a watered-down version of Christianity more palatable. There is no such thing as "Christianity by committee."

In fact, strictly speaking, there is no such thing as Christianity outside of Catholicism. There is only One True Faith, and that Faith is the Catholic Faith.

There is only one Church. There is no such thing as a Protestant "church." The Son of God established a Church — not thousands. Men established all those breakaways. But God, Who is One, established one.

Western culture is on the verge of collapse.

There is a gigantic clash of foundational philosophies going on in America right now, and the one that wins will dictate the course of history and the fate of the nation.

Everything that is being shoved in front of us daily in media and entertainment and sports and commerce is from the side promoting atheism — what we lovingly term "the Left" or "Marxists" but is really properly termed "the demonic." They do have the microphone, no doubt.

But there are quiet but nonetheless equally (if not more) determined efforts playing out to battle them in what has turned into really a kind of last stand — the legal system.

Brian Festa is a Catholic attorney who co-founded the organization We The Patriots precisely to battle against the forces of godlessness in the culture.

One victim of the New World Order establishment We The Patriots was able to help (among many) was Teryn Gregson, who was fired by the PGA as a sports reporter for refusing to go along with the mandates.

It began as a lie, remains a lie and will forever be a lie.

Time is running out on the country. Correction — time may have already run out. We're just waiting for the impact.

But regardless of whether there is something left to salvage and the ability and desire to push back against the culture-destroying forces of communism, one thing is clear, as it always has been: Without Catholicism, specifically Catholicism, the country is gone.

And we aren't talking about individual (likely Hell-bound) Catholics like Pedo Joe and Nancy. We are talking about the actual Faith — the teachings, the ones that lot deny while still being allowed to claim the mantle of "Catholic" by an even larger, more revolting crowd of bishops who allow it.

It does not equip one for salvation; it equips one for self-delusion. And that Catholic bishops would permit this evil, this lie, and even push it, means they will be held the most accountable. No bishop can allow, or even cooperate in, the damnation of his own flock and somehow think he won't be damned.

It is a heresy, and those who believe it are in danger of being damned.

We want to follow up on this theme regarding Protestantism, which seems to have really struck a nerve. A couple of necessary distinctions first, because the Catholic mind makes distinctions because distinctions must be made to arrive at correct understanding so right judgments can be formed — and then, of course, choices.

First, Protestantism is a heresy, and no amount of politically correct pandering will ever alter that. It is a heresy, plain and simple. And because it is a heresy, it is a lie.

The Church, in canon 751 of the Code of Canon Law, defines heresy as "the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and catholic faith." But as the Catechism points out, there are formal heretics and material heretics, and the difference between the two boils down to the individual's subjective disposition of his opinion.

A formal heretic is one who is aware that his belief is at odds with Catholic teaching and yet freely and willingly continues to cling to the belief pertinaciously, meaning stubbornly. In other words, they have a bad motive and cling to a position purely out of pride, a position they know or suspect is wrong but are simply unwilling to admit it. This is a man of bad will.

But a material heretic is a person who denies a truth that must be held by divine and Catholic faith, but who holds the heretical belief because of either invincible ignorance or because of an error held in good faith. "Good faith" here means he thinks he is right and not in error, but on the contrary, is in possession of the truth.

Stop worshiping a failed system.

I'm Michael Voris, coming to you from the We The Patriots Conference in Boise, Idaho, where loyal citizens of the republic have gathered for a series of talks and presentations on the state of affairs and what can be done.

But in side discussions with some folks here, a theme is emerging that Christianity is being (or has already been) replaced by a kind of political religion, where the Constitution is viewed as more important than the Scriptures.

Of course, no one here at this heavily Protestant-attended event will come right out and say that, but that's the undercurrent, at least among some (and by some, we mean not a few).

America is a Protestant nation. Period. That is the underlying ethos that permeates, or at least permeated, every institution in the country. But what exactly is the Protestant ethos? What is the underlying philosophical principle which flows through the bloodstream? Ultimately, it is a rejection of authority.
