@destraht ya I know, u just take stock of the cynicism and do your thing with an *’in spite of the fact’ vibe: Codified expressions of impatient anticipation—yawning, finishing sentences. Personally I just do what’s required & bounce without a word as if it were second nature. If there are to be minor infringements I make them smoothie
@xxxmersenne This is why I said "tread carefully". Books by Alan Watts are good for an introduction, but staying there is death. They are analogous to most posters on /r/TheRedPill. Don't forget that Alan Watts was a raging alcoholic.
Zen is not hedonism, and that's what the Beat generation wanted it to be. If you misunderstand these things you'll end up in a nihilistic abyss that Evola warned about.
Because of the forces at work here in the West, the majority of radical spiritual practices will be watered down at the expense of practitioners.
an innate drive to perform heroic feats for one's tribe. Ain't no problem withthat.
No, I guess not. As long as it's a real tribe. Problem is this drive is easy to be taken advantage of by football teams, religions, nations etc. There haven't been any real tribes for some thousands of years now.
Just make sure you have a kick-ass life before you are ready to sacrifice it for a "higher cause". Sacrifice can range from heroic to stupid.
