Prosecutors rather quietly dropped numerous felony charges against protesters at the event that "justified the need to send Federal troops to "protect" Los Angeles because local law enforcement was getting helplessly overrun."

Turns out that video and other evidence either doesn't support, or directly contradicts, officer claims and accounts of events leading to these arrests. One protester was charged with felonies for allegedly shoving a police officer. Video of the incident clearly showed the POLICE OFFICER shoving the protester unprovoked, then officers taking him down and arresting him. Another incident the officers claimed was part of this incident, turned out happened at a different time and location than the above. An officer, once again unprovoked, shoved a female protester. She raised her hand in defense, then got piled on and arrested by numerous officers in plentiful body armor. Her sister briefly touched the shoulder of one of the officers on top of the woman, and she was also taken down and arrested for obstruction and assault on an officer.

THIS... THIS is the kind of behavior you support, embolden, and amplify, when you passively accept the militarization of law enforcement, and side with the cops against what you probably assume are "leftist protesters."

@SeasonedRP Simple. Like any other "free" market, short supply will drive up production and a new equilibrium will be reached after an initial spike in the prices.

That's not happening with the housing market, because it's not a free market. There is a law. If 20% of the residents object to a new project in the town hall, that project is vetoed.

Guess what? There's always a 20% boomer nosy retired-military type of population who are willing to show their assess in the town hall when we're at work.

That's why new houses are not being built despite the increasing demand.

Again. Nothing to do with immigrants. In a healthy society, population will always increase, and the US ain't running out of land anytime soon. It's one of the least densely populated countries in the World. The construction business haven't stopped in those most densely populated ones yet.

What you fail to mention is that California refuses to cooperate with, and attempts to thwart, ICE, and ICE said ahead of time if you do that, we're taking in everyone we find. And they are. Good.

I'll mention it specifically, please try to address in good faith yourself.

California isn't so much "supporting the illegals " as "Upholding due process and rule of law" by openly not aiding and abetting ICE's bypassing and disregard of same.

You're proudly saying GOOD to normalizing militarization of law enforcement and tossing away of the very constitutional rights that made America stand out from authoritarian countries and ideologies. Only a fool thinks they are safe from these authoritarian forces even turning against themselves, and finding there exists no recourse after its far too late.

@SeasonedRP in strictly economic terms, ICE raids amount to hacking at the downstream branches of economic evil, while leaving intact the ruling class economic roots.

One misses the big picture by focusing on Hurr durr get the illegals out. Economic exploitation and wealth transfer to upper classes forms a deeply entrenched vertical industry. This benefits the wealthiest class at every stage. From exploiting resources in foreign lands, which helps drive immigration to US, Which further enriches employers, and hedge fund owned rent prices, while driving down wages both domestically and in aforementioned foreign countries, which further gets exploited by capital and rent seeking classes. America is speed running towards Weimar Republic conditions, and our working classes only help that process by adopting ruling class values and scapegoating immigrants on an individual level, when they are as much pawns and victims of the same exploitation as American workers.

Be careful about taking the bait to punch down on powerless immigrants, but thus never punching UP at entities like hedge funds and large companies that exported jobs, drove down wages, and bought up much existing housing inventory.
