Moderators are not perfect. How would we know if certain things violate copyright? We don't have a full library of content to compare to. We have to best-guess. If one thing slips through, we're on the hook for thousands! Liability is too high, easier to shut down, never start.
Big companies like Twatter and Facecrook will benefit greatly from this. They can afford to hire staff to proofread every post. Meanwhile places like trp.red will suffer as manual review of all posts will delay posting, stifle conversation, and inevitably kill it.
