True, though gate control is easily applicable to injury compared to doing nothing at all
@Vermillion-Rx studying psychology and neurology alone, is like learning to drive a car by reading design books and repair manuals only. You learn nothing about practical rules of the road, navigation, and competitive techniques to engage rush hour or win races. Maslow brought me a lot of insight, but adding Machiavelli would have given young me practical tactics and ideas.
@Farang131 you're missing the point
The point is to be aware of when people are trying to manipulate you
If a woman appeals to your vanity, say by asking "can a big strong man like you do __ for me?" you need to ask yourself what's in it for you.
If trad cons and gynocentric preachers try to appeal to your sense of duty to get you to Man Up™! and marry a "reformed" slut and be a stepdaddy, you need to ask yourself what's in it for you.
And sometimes you can just run with it, like when your woman gives you a BJ and then asks you to take her to some store you hate. "I got a BJ, so I'll do this for her".
This isn't about fitting in with how most people use a word; it's about recognizing the world as it actually operates so that you can look out for your own interests.
Read More@Farang131 almost all of human communication is manipulation
A baby crying is manipulation.
A valid, sound, deductive argument is manipulation.
Appealing to a sense of duty is manipulation.
Offering money in exchange for a service is manipulation.
Anytime you or anyone else tries to get someone else to change course, take actions, cease an action, etc etc etc it's manipulation.
Manipulation isn't inherently evil or good. It just is.
And it behooves one to be aware of it.
@Typo-MAGAshiv No problem. What timestamp in the video is the "Red Pill victim mentality" I'd like to see that bit.
@Typo-MAGAshiv I agree men need to ask "what's in it for me" but also risk vs benefit. IF I get married what's the risk vs benefit. Men don't do that with love / relationships because they watch too many Disney films and think love is some mysterious force that cannot or should not be analysed this way meanwhile women are secretly analysing the hell out of their options.
@Typo-MAGAshiv In addition to this the meaning of words can and does change and develop over time its not set in stone otherwise we would still be speaking old english etc.
@Typo-MAGAshiv I think how a word is actually used is important for example for a long time the word "gay" technically just meant happy but that's not how people used it. If you insisted on using it the proper way there would potentially be a lot of avoidable misunderstandings.
I think trying to stick to a strict dictionary definition no matter what with no nuance can be a little autistic.
