Discussion about the 5th gen war

Welcome to the 5th Gen Warfare Tribe.

Given that we are experiencing rapid changes in our culture, it made sense to have a place to track the populist movements / battles as they occur, and not necessarily under the banner of politics.

For instance, Gamergate, Occupy Wallstreet, Maga Movement, and now the Wallstreet bets have all been "battles" with something in common: They cross political lines and share a common, populist root.

Here we can talk about the greater culture war and discuss the big picture for players and actions.

@First-light

good musician

Eehh. There are far better who never made it.

"bigger than god"

He said the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus", which was accurate. Most people took it the way you phrased it and got offended.

Hi sanctimonious preaching about things he had no understanding was a really shitty thing to do.

Yes, especially when he himself failed to follow his own shit.

Even today some of his songs are like pacifist hymns beloved of the artistic establishment, long after almost everyone has realised pacifism is the way to get fucked.

Pacifism is goddamn retarded.

@adam-l uh, yeah!

I don't want people to make the mistakes I made. I learned the hard way, so hopefully others won't have to.

Very different from preaching bullshit and continuing to do exactly the opposite.

@Typo-MAGAshiv Agree with all that. He had good talent like B or B+ and rode the zeitgeist to perfection.

It does irritate me when those who have been lucky and successful seem to think it makes them authorities on life or morality. In his case one feels he really was actually more ignorant by the time he had studied all that hemp steeped, flower adorned "spirituality" than he was at the start when he was a leather jacketed working class lad who wanted to make some noise in the clubs.

I tend to think "Did you not learn anything on the way up from the people who carried you there?

I suppose humility is something life has to teach you.

That dumb bitch Billie Eilish is another example.

We live on "stolen land"? Then give yours back to the natives. You go first.

As for me, I'll live where my forefathers conquered like anyone else.

@adam-l

Number 2 is no conflict, though

Oh yes the fuck it is.

You think wealth should be shared? You first, oh great one.

Don't be telling guys like me who bust our asses to make it that we need to share more of what we earned, while you sit on a vast fortune that you only got by being lucky.

There's nothing inherently contradicting about having a set of ideas about society while living yourself in the society you find yourself in.

If your ideas are against the law, sure.

However, if you have the freedom to practice what you preach, and you choose not to practice what you preach, you are the worst kind of hypocrite.

And that describes champaign socialists such as Lennon.

@adam-l William F. Buckley, of all people, helped Lennon obtain legal status in the U.S. so he could dodge Britain's then top tax rate of 98%.

@Typo-MAGAshiv I think he was just a natural lefty from the working class north of England who was a good musician. That should have been all but he came of age at a moment in time when a certain kind of music became both the anthem of a the counter culture and a capitalist's wet dream. Suddenly a left musician was as he put it "bigger than god".

So he went round like a god or at least like a guru giving everyone the benefit of his drug induced vision of how to be a rich lefty messiah.

Hi sanctimonious preaching about things he had no understanding was a really shitty thing to do.

Even today some of his songs are like pacifist hymns beloved of the artistic establishment, long after almost everyone has realised pacifism is the way to get fucked.
