Welcome to The Hub. This is our welcoming tribe dedicated to introducing yourself, meeting new people, and learning about new tribes.
I am also fortunate to have come of age at about the same tlme as you.
I had no plan nor clear thoughts as to relationships and what to expect/demand of one.
All I knew was I was "supposed" to have a Girlfriend and all would be right with my (the) world.
Had my first Child just before 25, married later that year, and about to celebrate our 40th.
It has been a ride, not sure if I would change anything.
@TwoInchesOfShaft Depends on the career trajectory. Doing that when young so you can obtain substantial pay and responsibilities later on is a reasonable choice. Beating your head against the wall in your 50s for 60 hrs/week year round doesn't sound appealing.
Anyone else here thinking no matter how good you are at your job and how far you could go, it’s not worth it to work 60 hours per week year in year out? I’ve come to the realization that a “career” is not worth anything to me if all other aspects of my life get neglected. I don’t care if my career would go amazing if I don’t have the energy anymore to pick up my guitar or to bang my wife. I’ll probably never take it easy, that’s not my personality, but grinding all the time is not appealing to me.
