Sometimes you just have to say things like they are, so here we go. Politics in America is all about sex — nothing else. And the 2020 election is all about sex, hands down. The radical Left (which is just another term for Marxists) cares nothing for their pretend causes; they only care about sex.

In their view, government is all about protecting their "right" to have sex with whomever they want, whenever they want and how often they want. Calling them the "sexual Left" is not a stretch — or even the "lustful Left." In fact, it's perfect.

Now, for clarity, the elites at the very top, running the show, their motive is not sex. Their motive is just raw power, but they have weaponized the sexual revolution of the 1960s to advance their cause.

For a number of years, Church Militant has been highlighting the parallel between the evils in the State and the evils in the Church. It's not only D.C. that has a swamp; it's not only D.C. that has a "deep state." Those phenomena are also present in the Church.

The swamp is the status quo, both in D.C. and the Church. There are people, in both, who have privileged positions and who benefit personally by keeping the status quo. In D.C., it comes in the forms of defense contracts, for example, and massive lobbying firms and an entire network of business as usual (because what's counted as "usual" is the personal aggrandizement of so many individuals).

Talk about what's old is new again. No matter what is happening in the Church these days, much of it seems to go back to Vatican II — the 21st ecumenical council (held from 1962–1965) — supposedly to equip the Church to deal more effectively in evangelizing the modern world.

If that was the goal (and we say "if" at least as it relates to some council participants), the only thing that can be said is that the council was a total flop, failing spectacularly on every score. Post Vatican II, the Church is in full-blown retreat and in many cases has been subverted all over the West by the heresy of modernism.

Unless you are a pretty faithful Catholic, you've probably never heard that on May 17, 1846, the bishops of the United States had proclaimed Mary — under the title of her Immaculate Conception — the principal patroness of the whole country. Of course, those were bishops who pretty much believed the Faith and actually believed in things divine. Today, not so much.

For evidence, when was the last time you heard that little factoid — that America was placed under the protection of Our Blessed Mother under the title of the Immaculate Conception? Interesting point: The declaration by the American bishops was almost a decade before the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, which would happen in 1854.
