Very interesting insight into what we already know. Lots of gems in this thread.
It's funny how women assume perspective for these phrases and words. "Settling" is a relative term. You could settle with respect to what you deserve by some objective standard, you could settle with respect to what you feel you deserve, or you could settle with respect to what you consider is most ideal. Seems like women are talking about settling with respect to what's most ideal to them , and because of the ambiguity of the other possible meanings, no one really questions them.
