Happy 2026! Late last year, I published an audiobook version of my novel 'Land of the Losers'. If you like books but don't have the time to read, this one is meant for you. Check it out: www.the-niceguy.com/book/audiobook.html
Naturally, the e-book and hard-cover are also available: www.the-niceguy.com/book/
@First-light This is about the sum of it. It’s all so polarised and the “sides” are violently oscillating between world views as the chaos ensues, never remaining consistent in their analysis or observations.
Hell, the post I made at the top of this thread didn’t really sit well with me because I didn’t want to say it was necessarily one way or the other without retrospectively changing my view on the prior shooting.
At this juncture I’m more likely to say I don’t care but that’s a luxury afforded to me by not having a dog in this race.
@MentORPHEUS Yeah, he was resisting, period. But in the end, that won't really matter. If you watched it frame by frame, you would know he had something in his right hand as he was rearing up from the ground. Gun? Who knows (probably not, but it doesn't actually have to be a gun to matter). All of the cops where clearly spooked by something because they fell back, letting him rise. Empty holster--something in his hand--getting up without being restrained--and a gunshot rings out. Those that shot after the first shot no doubt thought there was a real threat to them. Now what matters, and unfortunately we don't get an answer to this in any video, is where did that first shot come from? Did the one officer just pop one off for giggles? If he did, then he is in trouble. Did the P320 spontaneously discharge, as they are known to do? Well, then that is a completely different story. So who knows so far.
Read More@Stigma One problem of today's news coverage (both by official media and non mainstream sources) is that we get individual incidents made into very big things. This is essentially a war on a very large corrupt group. It a big battle fought all over the state. No battle plan ever goes off quite as planned. It is very rare that a battle is won without some casualties that may not have been necessary.
People on both sides argue themselves silly over small moments that were judgement calls.
Wise law abiding citizens stay away from officers of the state doing stressful jobs and making fast decisions on limited data. Officers of the state try to avoid harming those who are not the direct targets of action. But in the end life is not perfect. I don't see many people saying this. Its either "this saintly man was jilled unfairly" or "this bad man was fairly shot". Not "This guy got into a tense law enforcement situation and it really backfired on him. No one wanted this but this is what can happen in these situations. Let this be a lesson to those who get involved in others' battles. It may become your battle without you realising it". You might also add "Do you really want to be a martyr for a group who are ripping your country off?"
We do need to grow up and see reality. Casualties are inevitable in battles.
Read MoreI don't keep up with current events so I've no idea what's being discussed here. As a point of order, however:
He was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital, watch the video of him recently eulogizing one of his longtime patients.
Emotional manipulation is literally the first tactic to which both progressives and mainstream media outlets (but I repeat myself) resort when they're spinning a bullshit narrative. They did it with "Maryland man," Covid, St. George of Our Lady of Fentanyl and countless others besides. This video did a pretty good job of covering the issue.
The fact this guy was apparently an ICU nurse who delivered a touching eulogy for a patient means literally nothing in the context of the shooting being discussed, particularly if he was actively engaged in subversion and/or obstruction of ICE agents performing their legal duties.
To be clear, I'm not saying that's what happened.
Again, I don't know anything about the event being discussed and, frankly, I don't care. I simply felt it pertinent to draw attention to the rampant (ab)use of pathos by bad faith actors who are fully cognizant of the fact most progressives wear their hearts on their sleeves and are easily distracted and misled by a well-crafted sob story.
Read More@Stigma As before, I've watched frame by frame from every available angle before assuming much less concluding anything. This time, ICE/ Border patrol officers pumped about 10 rounds into the back of a guy who was on the ground and had already been relieved of his legal concealed carry firearm. At NO point did he threaten the officers. His last act was to attempt to help up a woman who the officers knocked to the icy ground. He had only a phone in one hand and never reached for much less brandished his weapon. I watched a parade of administration spokespeople attack his character and describe him as aggressively attacking the officers when video clearly shows the opposite. He was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital, watch the video of him recently eulogizing one of his longtime patients. It positively breaks my brain watching the 2A, Jan 6 apologist, Don't tread on me, Government overreach crowd ALL rushing to support this murder and the Feds who committed it, and blame and vilify the victim. Note that the scope has crept to murdering straight white men with impunity in the name of "protecting America from worst of the worst violent criminal illegal immigrants." How far will each Trump supporter stay firmly committed to ride or die on this crazy train???

@Stigma the videos in the second shooting don't answer the most important question: where did the first shot come from. Until we know, all theories are bullshit.
@SwarmShawarma Here is a link to a daily Telegraph article in which is a rather nice video that Grok put together of Emilia. dailytelegraph.co.nz/world/uk-anti-extremism-game-backfires-and-spawns-viral-meme/
@redpillschool Yeah the videos are a bit chaotic and poor quality. I suppose it would be prudent to wait for testimony and some clearer footage before coming down on one side or the other.
