This represents a simplistic and very dull mainstream take on the topic.

Iran has been fully cooperative with IAEA inspectors. Trump's own National Security advisor told him clearly that no evidence exists that Iran is currently, or has going back to the early 2000s, working on any kind of nuclear weapons program.

You know what nation in the region is NOT compliant with IAEA and other standards about a large undeclared nuclear arsenal that they possess? Israel.

Israel's unprovoked attack on Iran in the midst of Iran cooperating with international inspectors, goes to show that perhaps Iran SHOULD have possessed a nuclear weapon as a deterrent!

The Marines didn't touch any civilians, and so far I haven't heard of any reports of non-violent peaceful protesters being harmed in any way.

Because, again, they were not needed or wanted by local law enforcement- Trump deploying them was 100% performative. Everything was 100% under control.

Deploying military troops for civilian law enforcement, IS AUTHORITARIAN by its nature.
