I've been saying for years now that:

They think "what do I want in a man?" and then emulate that, because they mistakenly believe men find the same things attractive.

That's also the origin of the frustrated NiceGuy, who values kindness and a gentle spirit in a woman, and so emulates those qualities thinking that women must find those attractive as well.

@Vermillion-Rx Woman I'm working with, she's flirting her way around the office putting it all out there. She might as well be one of those spin advertisers with flashing neon pointing right at her pussy. She's early 20's about a 6 and has shown no signs of positive personality traits. Most of them cannot bring any girlfriend energy to the table and the only girlfriend quality they can offer is a label rather than any kind of girlfriend behaviors or benefits different than sex.

And because they fail to identify or admit that that's all they have to offer and get treated as such, they project onto men that these men only want sex and they direct external blame onto everyone

And she will still think she's special and deserves more because she fails to understand being a girlfriend is more than just a label and a promise to be exclusive

@MentORPHEUS Good analogy. the academic discipline of psychology is like studying design or engineering -you want to know how it works. Psychologists who go on to deal with ill people are like mechanics -they try to fix it.

Most good drivers have some basic idea of how a car works, though not nearly as good as the professionals. However being an engineer or mechanic doesn't make you much better at dealing with the road than an ordinary guy. But you will be less clueless when you break down.

@Vermillion-Rx studying psychology and neurology alone, is like learning to drive a car by reading design books and repair manuals only. You learn nothing about practical rules of the road, navigation, and competitive techniques to engage rush hour or win races. Maslow brought me a lot of insight, but adding Machiavelli would have given young me practical tactics and ideas.
