@Saltycroc Women are wired to always want better. Alpha males offer some advantages. Better Alpha males offer more advantages. A good rich simpy beta is usually worth a lot more to a girl than a poor value alpha.
Some will monkey branch to the rich generous beta and be faithful, some will monkey branch and be unfaithful, some will just cheat on the Alpha with the Beta in the hope of benefit coming to them. Some are just sluts and if Alpha is away she will play. Some will stay faithful.
Women differ by experience and by genetics and by circumstances. There are few rules apart form that they all want more. Some can resist temptations, others can't. Most can't resist a good temptation.
@Saltycroc Women aren't wired to want to stay with the same man forever. Hypergamy. Ancient people created rules for civilizations and marriages to rein in female sexual behavior. And like @Typo-MAGAshiv says, her perception of what is "alpha" may not be the same as yours, and hers may also change over time. There are ways to reduce the odds but certainly no guarantees.
