Maybe cold approach was something that worked in the 90s or the 00s, but if you try and cold approach anyone today it's going to be approached with suspicion, at best.
Mehh. I talk to half a dozen strangers daily that I do not have to interact with and no one's body language screams suspicious.
I will agree society as a whole has lost a good portion of their abilities when it comes to interacting in person thanks to everyones social media presence.
Location/culture matters too. Out on the West Coast the same behaviors got me silence and eye avoidance 50% of the time. Midwest, everyone throws me at least a one line reply. Even in the larger métropolitains like Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit.

I see that a lot of women are very distrubed by the age gap. I have the solution for you: stop thinking about age, and start thinking about fertility. Because fertility is the very reason why men and women are attracted to each other in the first place.
So, when you see two 21 year olds get together, that seems fine and dandy. right? That is becuase there is no fertility gap. They are both prime. But when you see a 26y.o. woman getting together with a 42 year old guy, you loose your shit. Here is something that will make you feel better about it: they are both equal from the fertility point of view. They are both about 20% off their fertility peak.
When you see a 35 y.o. woman with a 62 y.o. guy, that is also a very close math in terms of fertility. They are both 90% off their fertility peak.
And don't bother extending this out past about 42...because after 42, you have zero fertility. Your match at 45 is not some dude who is 89. There is no match for you at 45.
